Pre recorded updates 917-387-8865
IMPORTANT NOTE: The above number is only a recording, you will not be able to speak to anyone through it. The recording can be updated from any remote location and so it will be updated constantly, as necessary to provide the latest information on where the rally will be held. Because of the recording limit of 20 seconds the information will be up to the point giving the location of where we are throughout the day. The number is to an old pager voicemailbox. The pager has been disabled, please DO NOT leave messages. NO, it will not record your number. NO, it is not toll free from outside NYC. Some people objected to te auto responder e-mail. That has been removed. The other thread was pulled to allow time for the necessary changes.
Dutchy and NYC GOP Chick are the main organizers of the event and are designing additional fliers for the event in addition to the above flier. Firebrand is getting the appropriate permits for the rally and we will not know details of where we will be able to gather until close to the rally date. I AM NOT the organizer of this rally, just giving a hand.

Not a flase dichotomy at all.
We simply support the troops AND the war at the same time.
The reality is that the other side, at least the organizers are not interested in doing either. While some pacifists genuinely support the troops and not the war, the overwhelming majority are completely anti-American. You wiould be naive at best to believe otherwise.

And you sir hide behind the usual canard of the do nothings of the world who would have left Hitler in place.
You are certainly entitled to your worthless opinion. That is after all how it is in a free society. A luxury that 3/4 of the people of the qworld simply cannot afford.
If it is imperialist to rid the world of the Hitler's, Stalin's and sadam's of the world, then we need more imperialism.
Patriotism is loyalty to a nation. idealism is loyalty to an ideal. there is a difference. I am not a patriot. My loyalty is to the constituion. Not to a potentate or nation or flag for that matter. that is the oath that we all take. To "preserve and protect the constituion, against all ENEMIES, foreign and DOMESTIC.".
All wars can be claimed to be imperialist. The issue are we going to colonize Iraq? Will we impose a dictatorship worse than what the Iraquis have now? Is defence against the potential alliance of Al Q'aida and Iraq imperialist?
And even if the war is for Oil. Is it not justified to preserve our way of life? I suppose that you use a wood stove for heating and read by candlelight, get to work on a bicycle, have a computer with absolutely no plastic parts, wear clothing made only of cotton and wool, purchase goods in a store wrapped only in brown paper etc.. Perhaps iopposing violence and war makes you feel good. But if you are a man of principle you could do without all the products produced from petroleum and live in a cave.
While you're at it, turn off your computer before you feel like a hypocrite.

Thank you very much. The Tri-State Chapter should know real soon exactly where we'll be making our stand on Saturday.

NY1 has been reporting all morning that the NYPD have been refusing protest MARCH permits since last fall (I don't think it applies to rallies where everyone stays in one place). There is supposed to be a ruling on the peaceniks' march this afternoon. But according to this, it ain't looking good. I don't know how it's going to affect us either.

Respectfully suggest you go troll on another thread. This one already has a purpose, and it isn't what you're trying to sell.

This just in: judge has TURNED DOWN the march permit. The peaceniks will be permitted to gather north of the UN, but not to march past it.
I heard Dag Hammerskjold plaza and 49th & First. So they are close to the UN. I wonder where they will put us...
To: hellinahandcart
I suppose they will be appealing this right up to Saturday morning.
Or planning to march anyway and get themselves tear-gassed for the cameras...

You are an idiot. Our civilization and industrial existence is totally dependent on oil and indistrial diamonds. Without them the world as we know it would not exist. I would invade Iraq even if there was no terrorism crisis or WMD crisis. We should control the oil and no one else. The arabs can have the sand.
If you want to live in a world without the necessity of oil go live in a cave, because that is the only alternative. You hide behind rhetoric, I tell it like it is. You are a hipocrite, I am not.
