In a day filled with emotions, tributes, and tears, President Bush and First Lady Laura attended the memorial service for the astronauts whose lives were lost in the space shuttle Columbia tragedy on Saturday. The President spoke to the crowd of at least 10,000 teary eyed mourners, and eulogized the Columbia crew. In the closing moments of his speech, Bush spoke to the children of the crew by saying, 'And to the children who miss your Mom or Dad so much today, you need to know, they love you, and that love will always be with you. They were proud of you. And you can be proud of them for the rest of your life.' The First Couple returned to Washington this evening. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya.

I read it, Miss Marple. :o) Thank you!
It's Mr. Ohio's favorite hymn......filled with depth and meaning. Triumph over unspeakable sorrow through the grace, love and peace that only God can give.
It will be my theme song for the next 'up to 365 days.'

My brother's National Guard unit was called up today. He also leaves Monday, but for Ft. Collins Colorado. After 2 weeks he'll be off to Kuwait for a minimum of 6 months. He is the father of six children, four still at home. I am praying for peace of mind for him and his family, it's pretty hard for them right now.
Bless your son for his willingness to serve; he is in my prayers as I am praying for all our military personnel.

Thank you for doing this each day..
I just don't see how anyone can watch the President that I saw and heard today and not KNOW that he gives everything for this country. What a wonderful President we have.

Ecclesiastes 3
1 To everything there is a season,
A time for every purpose under heaven:
2A time to be born,
And a time to die;
A time to plant,
And a time to pluck what is planted;
3A time to kill,
And a time to heal;
A time to break down,
And a time to build up;
4A time to weep,
And a time to laugh;
A time to mourn,
And a time to dance;
5A time to cast away stones,
And a time to gather stones;
A time to embrace,
And a time to refrain from embracing;
6A time to gain,
And a time to lose;
A time to keep,
And a time to throw away;
7A time to tear,
And a time to sew;
A time to keep silence,
And a time to speak;
8A time to love,
And a time to hate;
A time of war,
And a time of peace.

"It makes you wonder, how much more can a man take? They say that God doesn't give you more than you are able to handle. He must believe that our President can handle a lot."
It makes me wonder too. He hasn't had a moments peace since he ran for this job. We have to make sure we pray constantly for him, that God will help him every day and give him a peace that only He can give. Someone who has feelings and emotions like President Bush does REALLY needs that.
To: Miss Marple
Thank you, Miss Marple. It is truly a blessing to read that. I was feeling somewhat sentimental yesterday and just opened my bible and began to read.
What a comfort it is to know that we are not alone, but that everytime we feel small and insignificant with everything that is going on around us; we can look up (as I did yesterday) and know we are being sustained and comforted by the God of the universe.
Oh, thank you, Lord, that I know you. That I truly know you. And thank you that President Bush knows you too.

zlala, Prayers for your brother and his family. One of the many beautiful things about a big family: they will strengthen each other.

... and he flashed me a beautiful grin and said "I got peace like a river!"May the LORD guard and protect your son, and all the others who serve.
That's one of my favorite songs.

Missed the actual speech, but read it this afternoon. That simple act of giving his hankerchief to a child says it all. He knows the pain of a child, because of the lost of his sister. My heart grieves for his grief.

(Prayers for all)
To: ohioWfan
Your son has to know that he's in all our prayers. You did a good job on his ohioWfan, you should be proud.
I missed the ceremony today and missed it again tonight on C-Span. Looked for the schedule and it wasn't there so I watched the clip at the C-Span webisite. I really wish I could have seen it, the clip was awfully blurred, but I did get to hear our president speak. He was wonderful. He has been so tested by God that I know he will bring us through this darkness to the light at the other side.
To: ohioWfan
oWf - while Eric is home, are you going to share the Daily Dose with him so he can see how many of us feel as if we know him and that we're all praying for him.
To: ReaganandDubyaForever
He not only gave the little boy his handkerchief, when the little boy was done with it, his mother gave it back to the President, who stuffed it back into his pocket without missing a beat.
That's the act of a dad!

Please add zlala's brother, who is going to Kuwait.
It is wonderful that you have made a list of all to pray for, kayak. Thank you.

This President has had to be strong through so much tragedy - personal tragedy, and national tragedy.

I found this photo very moving. These are some guys from our neck of the woods. There are those whose first reaction would be "Is that legal?!" Thank God, yes it is; and there are still public officials who consider it to be unthinkable to proceed with such an undertaking without first calling upon the Almighty.

kayak, thank you. It saddens me so to see the list grow longer. I hope our time of peace comes really soon with as little bloodshed as possible.

Yes, he could have just let him have it but he actually took it back. I smiled when he did that.
