Ecclesiastes 3
1 To everything there is a season,
        A time for every purpose under heaven:

        2A time to be born,
           And a time to die;
        A time to plant,
           And a time to pluck what is planted;
        3A time to kill,
           And a time to heal;
        A time to break down,
           And a time to build up;
        4A time to weep,
           And a time to laugh;
        A time to mourn,
           And a time to dance;
        5A time to cast away stones,
           And a time to gather stones;
        A time to embrace,
           And a time to refrain from embracing;
        6A time to gain,
           And a time to lose;
        A time to keep,
           And a time to throw away;
        7A time to tear,
           And a time to sew;
        A time to keep silence,
           And a time to speak;
        8A time to love,
           And a time to hate;
        A time of war,
           And a time of peace.

kayak, thank you. It saddens me so to see the list grow longer. I hope our time of peace comes really soon with as little bloodshed as possible.

Thanks for the verse and the prayer list, kayak. My cousin Annette is active duty USN, currently on an aircraft carrier.

My best friend's brother is in the Army (currently Germany) and her sister is also in the Navy. I've only met them a few times and I really don't know them, but I worry about them all the same. I'm sure they would appreciate the prayers.

God bless our military and President Bush.

Thank you so much for posting the daily scripture -- if I miss it at night, I see it in the morning and it really helps me to remember that I need to get quiet and pray before the day begins, before the world crowds its way in -- and thank you for keeping the list of those who are serving our country -- for those who aren't sure what to do with the list -- it's enough just to repeat the names (or the relationship) and ask for their protection and peace for them and their friends/family -- the Lord will know who you're talking about

I saw most of the ceremony today -- it was difficult to get thru' but the President was strong and comforting -- the look on his face and on Laura's at times was heartbreaking -- the fact that he replaced his customary flag pin with the shuttle pin was so thoughful -- when he spoke to the children about their lost parents, boy did I get teary-eyes at that -- and when the chaplins recited Psalm 23 in both Hebrew and English -- that touched me deeply -- the whole ceremony was beautifully done

Thank you, Kayak, for the Psalm posting and for the list of those for whom to pray re: loved ones serving our nation right now in our military. Words fail to describe the love and respect and honor and humble gratitude held in my heart for these who are serving our nation so bravely - and the families from which they come. Prayers for each of these heroes - and their families - continue each day. Kayak-your service in letting us know for whom to pray is very appreciated here. Sorry am not able to post to all those on the list with loved ones - just simply lift them up to the throne of grace for God's help, strength, comfort, courage, and peace - and, of course, for His protection and care for their loved ones - our heroes.
