In a day filled with emotions, tributes, and tears, President Bush and First Lady Laura attended the memorial service for the astronauts whose lives were lost in the space shuttle Columbia tragedy on Saturday. The President spoke to the crowd of at least 10,000 teary eyed mourners, and eulogized the Columbia crew. In the closing moments of his speech, Bush spoke to the children of the crew by saying, 'And to the children who miss your Mom or Dad so much today, you need to know, they love you, and that love will always be with you. They were proud of you. And you can be proud of them for the rest of your life.' The First Couple returned to Washington this evening. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya.

I'm not an emotional type of person, but when I look at this man, listen to him speak and read the articles of all the things he has to deal with on a daily basis .. I just tear up and Thank God for blessing our countryI could have written this but YOU did it so well. And your dad-in-law's article had me bawling with pride and love for our President. Thanks for posting it, and for giving the CSpan link on another thread. Now I go there to CSpan to see replays of anything I've had to miss. Thank ya, Mo!!

***I get the feeling he sleeps well most nights. A clear conscience and faith will allow that. ***
Psalm 4:8
"I will both lie down and sleep in peace for You alone O Lord make me dwell in safety."

Finally made it here huh? Can't sleep ! Am anxious about tomorrow. Don't usually get that way. but.....Hope Powell can tell enough to get the message across without endangering anyone life.
It occured to me today that the pilgrimage to Mecca would be a good opportunity for "friendly" and not so friendly people to get out of Irag and get to safety.

Rintense, these photos, today, are so powerful. This man is so real (as Juan Williams of NPR even noticed!). I hate to bring him up, but I couldn't help but contrast GWB's actions with BJC's -- reaching over to touch that girl, I could just imagine him leering and asking for her phone number! And the tears are real... I was trying to explain to my husband about that Clinton tape at Ron Brown's funeral where he's joking and laughing ... until he sees the camera's on him -- instant tears! I KNOW Bush's are from the heart. Thank you again! :-}

A friend of mine went to BJU back in the late 70's and said as much about the singing. :o)
At a Scottish festival a few years ago we listened to 1000 bagpipes play Amazing Grace. It began with a lone bagpipe and grew to the full 1000. I'm not a weeping sort of lady but I was sure in tears during that!

Here is another Dubya fact I learned from Dan Rather (of all people), Did you know that George W. Bush broke a long standing protocol of a President of the United States being introduced before he speaks?
Today our President insisted that he was Not to be announced before he spoke. Dan Rather said that George W. Bush did not want to be announced because the people were assembled to honor our fallen heroes and he was here to pay his respects and to speak for the entire nation.
A far cry from his predecessor

I even bought Queen Mother of the Universe reading glasses today...Mary Englebreit of course. :oDOK, your dorkness!
Where'd you get those ME glasses, by the way? My attitude is that if I HAVE to wear glasses for reading, they might as well be cool and funky ones!

Today our President insisted that he was Not to be announced before he spokeWow, that didn't even occur to me as I listened to him today. The radio announcer mentioned he was coming to the mike, and all of a sudden he was speaking. I thought the ammouncer had 'stepped on' the intro.
Isn't it wonderful to have someone so humble in such an awesome position. He KNOWS it is not about HIM!

I checked out your pictures. How sweet of you to leave the flowers in the name of the Freepers. I'm glad you got to see our President. He was so great today.

George W. Bush did not want to be announced because the people were assembled to honor our fallen heroes and he was here to pay his respects and to speak for the entire nation. When I think it's not possible, the President does something to make me admire him even more. He's a great leader because he knows when to lead, and when to step back and observe. It's not about him. It's about us, united as a nation.

Just checking in before I go to bed. I was at my son's play (A Midsummer Night's Dream) and missed tonight's Dose. Sigh. W was incredible today. The strength of this man, I swear, is unbelievable. His words were perfect and his prescence totally appropriate. Didn't hog the spotlight, just wanted to be there for the families and for NASA.
We are so blessed to have him as president.
Sheesh...I hope tomorrow goes well. I CANNOT believe the French! What a bunch of weasels.
Okay, that's all...I'm off to bed to read my Weekly Standard. It has W on the cover with the title "The Liberator." It's pretty darn cool.
God Bless President Bush and God Bless y'all too!
I'll read the thread in the morning!

Rintense usually puts up the Dose during our supper and family time so it's rare to get here around 6pm my time.
I'm blessed reading through the many posts and knowing we're kindred spirits in respecting/admiring the President. To know we have him in our hearts and prayers is so precious to me.

Oh SuziQ these *are* way cool. Black with little white dots on the top rim and cherries on each upper corner. I *love* them! Got them at a shop here in town called The Willows. $15 and they still have power of +175 (I use +150). More are on order so if you want me to pick a pair up for you just say so. :o) I wonder if Mary Englebreit sells them on-line. Hmmmmm. I'll check and let you know.
To: SuziQ
These are the ones I bought!!!
