In a day filled with emotions, tributes, and tears, President Bush and First Lady Laura attended the memorial service for the astronauts whose lives were lost in the space shuttle Columbia tragedy on Saturday. The President spoke to the crowd of at least 10,000 teary eyed mourners, and eulogized the Columbia crew. In the closing moments of his speech, Bush spoke to the children of the crew by saying, 'And to the children who miss your Mom or Dad so much today, you need to know, they love you, and that love will always be with you. They were proud of you. And you can be proud of them for the rest of your life.' The First Couple returned to Washington this evening. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya.

I said that today. A friend and I were watching and we talking about how much this man has had to handle. Not to mention all the scarey info he gets every morning that we know nothing about.

A beautiful service today. This President is blessed with the gift of faith, it will see him through.

"I got peace like a river!"

Ohio, Your Eric is also blessed with the gift of faith. He is indeed, in God's hands. He will be safe and well, and so will you

Well, he did say he felt a "calling" to run for president. Obviously a higher calling.

You know, I am so proud of the people of Texas, and Louisiana, and eventually (I am sure) Arizona and California.

Look at how they have behaved...with dignity, responsibility, and respect. What a great testimony to the true American character!

**That's the act of a dad!**

I believe that if anyone ever asked me why I want him as president, without saying anything I would simply show them this clip.

I get the feeling he sleeps well most nights. A clear conscience and faith will allow that.

It is the "bot" from "robot." Our detractors think that we are mindless robots who do whatever the RNC says. We have taken the Bushbot phrase for a nickname.

In other words, we don't give a flying fig what people say about us.

Miss Marple, just caught the tail end of our local news here and heard that there has been some shuttle debris recovered off of Avila Beach here on the Central Coast. Since this has long been considered Space and Missile Country (Vandenberg AFB) - I'm confident that whatever is found will be treated with the proper respect and reverence.

I know you are incredibly proud of your son - he's in our prayers! As well as all the other service men and women who are keeping our freedom!

I love that song as well - when I was in college (the infamous Bob Jones University) we would sing it in chapel. There is nothing like hearing 1000's of young people singing. Especially when the "echo" of "It is well.... with my soul". They would stop all the instruments and it would be acapella /sp/... it was soul stirring!

"I get the feeling he sleeps well most nights. A clear conscience and faith will allow that."

Yes, He has a peace in his soul that helps him deal with this, and even though he may miss a few hours here and there it would be a whole lot worse if hhe didn't have God's peace within him.

Oh there are those who believe that those of us who like the President are robots, walking in lock step behind the President, agreeing with everything he says and does. Now those of us who are regulars know that label is simply not true. But, for those of us who know that label to not be true, the term Bushbot has become a kinda sarcastic piece of humor.

Regular freepers know that Bushbots have disagreed with the President on several occasions. The fact that we still support him in spite of those disagreements seems to be what perplexes the naysayers.
