Fox News Live just announced that Al-Queda is planning another large attack to the likes of 9-11.

Fox also said they may be precluded by a series of smaller attacks, then a huge attack.

ummm lets see - what holiday is coming up ohhh maybe 4th of July. I am still waiting for last years, Christmas, 4th of July, Memorial Day, New Years day attack. I am not downplaying the idea that they will attack some time in the future but the media has been saying this for almost 2 years now.

I don't think they're that impotent - I think that there have been many attacks thwarted that were in various stages of planning that will never be known by the world at large. I remember after 9/11 telling my hubby that in the war on terror there will be victories that we will never know about, but any failures will be out there for all to see.

They do not have the element of surprise anymore.

I very much doubt that they have the resources or ability to pull off any kind of attack without the element of surprise. I think we'd have seen it already, if they had that ability.

They are not a nation-state, and don't have the resources of one.

I believe that this is exactly what happened. They were a dangerous nuisance that we pretty much wiped out after 911. Don't get me wrong they're still dangerous, but were on guard now and we want to hang their heads on our fire mantles which makes it difficult to attack us again.
