EXCLUSIVE: Bush administration to release tapes that could incriminate Iraq.

Jan. 31 — The Bush administration is preparing to release supersensitive electronic intercepts obtained by the National Security Agency that officials say prove that Iraq has repeatedly lied to United Nations inspectors, plotted among themselves about how to conceal weapons material and even appeared to boast afterward at their success in doing so, NEWSWEEK has learned.

"Isn't Isikoff the reporter who broke the Lewinsky story?"

Yes but his editors spiked it. Matt Drudge got it, ran with it and a legend was born.

This revelation about I raq caught on tape? Am I the only one who finds myself saying "And this surprises you because????"

Sorry for the mixup folks. After posting the full text, which was removed, I find that the source is owned by the Washington Post.

obtained by the National Security Agency

I am very sorry that they are releasing this info. At the very least, it compromises intercept capabilities etc.

Well the CIA certainly wasn't gonna release it. They're doing everything they can to sandbag the Pres. If it wasn't for the boys at Ft. Meade, we wouldn't know half of what we do about the bad guys. But I do worry about protecting sources and methods.

There once was a thug named Saddam
Who desired a nuclear bomb
But then President Bush
Kicked Saddam in the tush
And deposed him with quite some aplomb

Havent' seen what Sen. Roberts is saying. I'd doubt the Administration will release a whole lot of info that is sensitive.... not their style.

Sonofabich, I cannot believe that we are about to reveal sources and methods to the very people who would kill to get ahold of this information. I hope DIRNSA presents a bill to Congress for the billions of dollars spent to develop these vital assests, because in one fell swoop all of them will be gone.

Saddam has already given the Dems their talking points: the tapes were fabricated, misinterpreted, or inconclusive. Wanna lay odds?

How sad to be a Democrat these days. To justify themselves, they must lie, plot, scheme, and hope for bad things to happen to their fellow countrymen so they they can grasp at power. Pathetic bunch.

Meanwhile, Bush just does what he thinks and prays will be the best for his nation. A leader.

The NSA also has tapes of Saddam making prank calls to Baghdad pizzerias to send goat cheese and mutton pizzas to the arms inspectors.....

LOL ! I bet he's the one that made this phone call too:

Drug store clerk: Hello?

ObL: Do you have Prince Albert in the can?

Drug store clerk: Uh, yes we do.

ObL: Well, don't you think you ought to let him out?...

'click !'....buzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

The news reporter is just trying to be 'fair' by witholding judgment on the tapes until they are seen. The reporter quotes the official as saying it WILL incriminate Iraq. That is why there is a difference.

It costs alot to disband a supernational corrupt institution like the UN. I consider it good bang for the buck.
