The institute will simply change its name and resume operations, maybe move a few doors down. That's what the Islamic centers here do whenever they soil their reputations.

"I support the school and the parents who bring their children here to be taught discipline. But I don't support torture and chaining of students," he said.

Just another chapter in the "religion of poopstain", er, I mean peace.

"Islam does not allow children to be tortured. Teaching and disciplining them is one thing - but not torture."

Islam is also a peaceful and loving religion.

George Bush tries repeatedly to reassure us about the “religion of peace”, but:

Why is the religion of peace directly responsible for 28 out of the 30 violent conflicts raging in the world today?

Why is the religion of peace responsible for the vast majority of chattel slavery in the world today?

Why is the religion of peace responsible for nearly every single act of terrorism in the 20th and 21st Centuries?

Why are the practitioners of the religion of peace routinely slaughtering unarmed practitioners of every other religion wherever they can get away with it?

Why does the religion of peace call for the murder of anyone who converts from the religion of peace to another religion?

Why do so many of the believers of the religion of peace look forward to the opportunity to rape 72 virgins in heaven if they die while killing innocent women and children of other religions? Is it a god they worship, or just sex? If a god, then shouldn’t heaven have more to do with him than their libidos?

Why do the leaders of the religion of peace routinely issue fatwas (death warrants) for anybody who questions their holy book of peace and their holy prophet of peace?

Why is the religion of peace responsible for the sexual mutilation of millions of little girls and the savage oppression of women?

Why did millions of the practitioners of the religion of peace laugh, cheer and dance in the street because 3,000 innocent men, women and children were murdered by seventeen men who supposedly “hijacked” the religion of peace? And why don’t the real practitioners of the religion of peace condemn the supposed “hijackers” of their religion? Why the deafening silence? Why the smiles? Why the cheers and high fives?

Hmmmm?

Perhaps I just don’t understand this whole PEACE thing. Did the definition of the word change, or is somebody just blowing a lot of smoke?

That's what the Islamic centers here do whenever they soil their reputations.

Slowly the realization sets in that it's impossible to soil the reputation of anything connected with Islam. In the US there are representatives of so many major religions. Each seems to have some outspoken members that are a cross section of society. I don't know if it is the need to sell the product or what. Yet when some sect or member does something that is so unspeakable, other members will do anything possible to rout it so as to be unsullied by the sect or member.

What has been public in the last couple of years, at least, has been the abhorent aspect(s) of Islam (throughout the world). Yet there are entirely to few to Muslims - maybe none? - who have gone on record as denouncing what is manifest in Islam. Will that religion ever mature into something to make its members justifiably proud?

"Islam does not allow children to be tortured. Teaching and disciplining them is one thing - but not torture."

Islam is a religion of peace, too. I wonder what Saddam's doing to the children in the Iraqi children's prisons? Scott Ritter knows but won't tell us.

I can hear the protests now: "this isn't typical of Islam. We respect our children. Islam is peace. Death to America. Oops. Strile that last part."

I only know 2 Muslims. One is a young woman who is a pharmacist. She is very quiet and very sweet. She lives here in VA. She hugs us all and is helpful to offer advice or her opinion, when we are suffering from allergies or muslce strains. The other is a young man that lives in TX. He is the first to offer help to anyone. He'll help move heavy appliances or furniture, come help a stalled car, or fix a flat. No matter what the time of day is. He talks about the bible all the time to my husband, however she never mentions anything. The only way I found out she was a Muslim was when Ramadam ended she told me how weak she was from having fasted all the time. Perhaps our President knows Muslims like these two?

"it sounds to me like they are toturing these kids .."

Picky, picky.

Actually, I think what we have is a failure to communicate. It just depends on what the meaning of "peace" is. To us, peace means contented co-existence; absence of war. To Islam, peace means "beat the infidels into absolute submission killing as many as necessary till they cease to resist." So everybody's happy right.

No religion ever rises above or transcends that upon which it is built. Islam is built on the twisted delusions of a self-absorbed, warmongering predophile with serious control "issues". Islam is a demon-worshipping death cult.

So in response to your question, I guess it would just depend on what its followers deem worthy of pride.

Islam has a Clintonesque definition of "peace". "Islam" actually "submission". Peace will come only when everyone submits. Something like the Communist definition of "peace", as being the state which will occur after total communist victory (as such, anybody who opposed communism was "against peace")

There are lots of good people in the world (as well as lots of the other kind), of every religion. You are blessed to know two of them.

The big question is: are they good people BECAUSE of the teachings of Islam, or IN SPITE of the teachings of Islam? Do you think your two friends wouln't still be good and kind people if they were Christians, Jewish, or Buddhists? The big issue is not whether good people exist in whatever group, but instead what direction the group's ideals and culture tends to turn people toward?
