NY DAILY NEWS EXCLUSIVEWASHINGTON - Iraq sent spies from Canada to New York and Washington this month to snoop and stir up anti-war demonstrations, according to a government report obtained by the Daily News.
The classified document also reveals a plot by Al Qaeda-linked militants in Zimbabwe to attack American targets in that country and elsewhere if the U.S. declares war on Iraq.
It suggests the group, Tablik Ja'maat, could be a "conduit for communication" between Osama Bin Laden's terror network and Iraqi leaders.
The threats, disclosed to U.S. spy agencies yesterday, are detailed in a secret report prepared by an intelligence unit in the Homeland Security Department.
It comes as the White House weighs the release of classified information to prove Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein's links to Al Qaeda and efforts to evade UN weapons inspectors.
A source identified as a member of the Iraqi opposition told U.S. agents that Iraqis in Canada were ordered to recruit Arabs and other foreigners for espionage missions in the U.S., the report said.
The Iraqi Embassy in Ottawa sent operatives to New York and Washington with instructions to "intensify spying activities and to carry out anti-U.S. demonstrations to stop a war against Iraq," the report said.
The report said the Iraqis were willing to spend "large sums" to back the effort.
The report also describes a plot by Tablik Ja'maat to carry out "coordinated attacks" against U.S targets in Zimbabwe if war is declared on Iraq. Other attacks, revealed by the group's leader at a Jan. 18 meeting at a mosque in Harare, would take place in Pakistan, Indonesia, Nigeria, Turkey, South Africa and Israel, the report said.
An Associated Press report last week said that the FBI is looking to question as many as 50,000 Iraqis living in the U.S. to root out potential spies and terror cells.
I believe Roger Hedgecock expressed the same yesterday.

We know from David D. Lowman's book MAGIC that the real reason Japanese and Japanese-Americans were relocated from the West Coast in WWII was that decrypted messages of Japanese intelligence revealed that Japan had already used Japanese in this country for espionage and intended, upon war, to make further use of them for both espionage and sabotage. Naturally, the U.S. government couldn't reveal that at the time.

Hey, I'd like to throw a wild card into this discussion. I know this isn't the case here, but there would be a way that this would be totally Constitutional.
The Constitution grants the Congress the following powers:
To define and punish piracies and felonies committed on the high seas, and offenses against the law of nations;To declare war, grant letters of marque and reprisal, and make rules concerning captures on land and water;
It would never happen, but I suppose theoretically, Congress could issue the above mentioned letters of marque and reprisal to Mossad for specific targets and it would then be legal for them to hunt down and kill an enemy within our borders.
The Constitution grants them also the following:
To make all laws which shall be necessary and proper for carrying into execution the foregoing powers... (with the letters of marque being one of the foregoing powers mentioned)
They could even keep it secret for a certain amount of time I suppose:
Each House shall keep a journal of its proceedings, and from time to time publish the same, excepting such parts as may in their judgment require secrecy; and the yeas and nays of the members of either House on any question shall, at the desire of one fifth of those present, be entered on the journal.That leaves enough Constitutional wriggle room to not say anything about it.

There are two types of Americans that assist Saddam...those that do it on purpose (progressives) and those who do it through ignorance (useful idiots, peaceniks). Both groups will become outraged if you call them out as anti-American, but one is faking it.
The useful idiots need to be shown more information than they get from the "progressive" media.

A month-or-so ago, every one of them had the same address. Now, since this has been pointed out by journalists such as Robert Korn and Michael Kelly (as well as noted on this forum), some of the webpages no longer list an address. And the Workers World Party HQ appears to have moved to 55 W. 17th St.
And that's where the information stops. As I recall, the IAC is actually incorporated as, or is the successor to, a daycare center.
Some FReeper did some snooping around regarding contributions to the WWP -- which, being a political party -- requires some level of transparency. They came up with one contribution of sufficient size to warrant reporting. As I recall, some foundation of uncertain heritage gave $56,000.
Where the rest of the money comes from, though, is an unanswered question. It's worth noting, however, that Iraq's Ambassador to the UN has been a featured participant in many of the IAC's seminars.
