I have heard repeatedly from credible sources that ANSWER is a front group for the communist World Worker's Party.

I believe Roger Hedgecock expressed the same yesterday.

"A source identified as a member of the Iraqi opposition told U.S. agents that Iraqis in Canada were ordered to recruit Arabs and other foreigners for espionage missions in the U.S., the report said.

The Iraqi Embassy in Ottawa sent operatives to New York and Washington with instructions to "intensify spying activities and to carry out anti-U.S. demonstrations to stop a war against Iraq," the report said.

The report said the Iraqis were willing to spend "large sums" to back the effort."

WASHINGTON TIMES.com: "A DOZEN PAKISTANIS ARRESTED IN CREDIT CARD FRAUD PROBE" by Jerry Seper (ARTICLE SNIPPETS: ""They made $5 million and we just don't see it in lavish lifestyles or expensive toys," Mr. McNulty said, noting that task force investigators were concerned about a lack of tangible evidence to show how the credit card ring spent its illicit profits." ..."Mr. McNulty said the man suspected of being the ringleader, Shah Nawaz, fled to Pakistan with others named in the scheme. He said some of the ring's profits were transferred to banks in Pakistan and Canada, noting that investigators traced $100,000 to specific outlets in those two countries. He said the scheme operated mostly on the East Coast, from Virginia to New York, and primarily focused on credit card, Social Security and immigration fraud.") (January 30, 2003)

well, I know it's a broken record, but:

I can't believe they're still here. Just can't believe it.

We know from David D. Lowman's book MAGIC that the real reason Japanese and Japanese-Americans were relocated from the West Coast in WWII was that decrypted messages of Japanese intelligence revealed that Japan had already used Japanese in this country for espionage and intended, upon war, to make further use of them for both espionage and sabotage. Naturally, the U.S. government couldn't reveal that at the time.

Yes. You can find the source on the live thread for their recent "peace demo" in D.C.

Israel to kill on U.S., allies'' soil

Strange article.. with a great comment: To: Walkingfeather

Hey, I'd like to throw a wild card into this discussion. I know this isn't the case here, but there would be a way that this would be totally Constitutional.

The Constitution grants the Congress the following powers:

To define and punish piracies and felonies committed on the high seas, and offenses against the law of nations;

To declare war, grant letters of marque and reprisal, and make rules concerning captures on land and water;

It would never happen, but I suppose theoretically, Congress could issue the above mentioned letters of marque and reprisal to Mossad for specific targets and it would then be legal for them to hunt down and kill an enemy within our borders.

The Constitution grants them also the following:

To make all laws which shall be necessary and proper for carrying into execution the foregoing powers... (with the letters of marque being one of the foregoing powers mentioned)

They could even keep it secret for a certain amount of time I suppose:

Each House shall keep a journal of its proceedings, and from time to time publish the same, excepting such parts as may in their judgment require secrecy; and the yeas and nays of the members of either House on any question shall, at the desire of one fifth of those present, be entered on the journal.
That leaves enough Constitutional wriggle room to not say anything about it.

I'm not directing this comment at you per se, I just noticed you were in on the discussion and you were the last post I got to. It's something to think about...

Is there any connection between Tablik Ja'maat in Zimbabwe and the worldwide Tabligh-i-Jamaat, which at least one Indian newspaper article says includes Farrakhan?

I don't know. Angelus Errare might :)

I'm afraid my first post wasn't very clear. I was saying that it is possible the administration leaked it, because of the reason you suggest; but, if we are getting ready to go to war with Iraq, why would we want Hussein to know that we know who his operatives are and what they are doing?

Kristinn any way we can find out who funds ANSWER??

I think Hugh Askton did a series of threads on that right after 9/11. I think the title was September 29.

IIRC, he found some links to Ramsey Clark.

Clark and Brian Becker were in Iraq last summer. That might be a clue.

Edward Immler(frontpagemag) did some extensive research tracking ANSWER, WWP, & IAC funding. Iraq's ambassador, Dr. Saeed Hasan participated in a program sponsored by IAC.

One of the former Soviet intellingence ofiicers that they interviewed said that the no nukes crowd was essential for them to get what they wanted from the West. It seems that Saddam has learned this lesson well

There are two types of Americans that assist Saddam...those that do it on purpose (progressives) and those who do it through ignorance (useful idiots, peaceniks). Both groups will become outraged if you call them out as anti-American, but one is faking it.

The useful idiots need to be shown more information than they get from the "progressive" media.

This is the group who went to Iraq last year..

The delegation also includes Mara Verheyden-Hilliard, an attorney and co-founder of the Partnership for Civil Justice-LDEF and member of the A.N.S.W.E.R. coalition steering committee; Johnnie Stevens, co-director of the People's Video Network; Kadouri al-Kaysi, coordinator of the Committee in Solidarity with the Iraqi People; and Brian Becker, co-director of the International Action Center and member of the A.N.S.W.E.R. coalition steering committee.

"This report raises with new urgency the question of who funds ANSWER."

The hub of the anti-war wheel is the neo-Stalinist Workers World Party: Workers World, with links to the International Action Center (Ramsey Clark's front), A.N.S.W.E.R., Free Mumia, Vote No War, Sam Marcy's papers (the founder of the Workers World Party), etc.

You'll note that these organizations share:

Addresses (39 W. 14th St,. #206, NY, NY 10011)

Phone Numbers (212-633-6646)

Web Page Design

A month-or-so ago, every one of them had the same address. Now, since this has been pointed out by journalists such as Robert Korn and Michael Kelly (as well as noted on this forum), some of the webpages no longer list an address. And the Workers World Party HQ appears to have moved to 55 W. 17th St.

But who funds those organizations? They've got to get money from somewhere to do what they do.

I heard Saddam on FOX this morning predicting that "Americans would suffer if the US went against the will of the world and attacked Iraq and U.S economy would collapse." Sounds like he's running in the Democratic Primary.

"But who funds those organizations? They've got to get money from somewhere to do what they do."

And that's where the information stops. As I recall, the IAC is actually incorporated as, or is the successor to, a daycare center.

Some FReeper did some snooping around regarding contributions to the WWP -- which, being a political party -- requires some level of transparency. They came up with one contribution of sufficient size to warrant reporting. As I recall, some foundation of uncertain heritage gave $56,000.

Where the rest of the money comes from, though, is an unanswered question. It's worth noting, however, that Iraq's Ambassador to the UN has been a featured participant in many of the IAC's seminars.

Is it legal for a U.S. (nonprofit?) organization to accept money from the Iraqi government? If it accepts it, is it legally obliged to register as a foreign agent? Maybe the U.S. government should consider classifying the Iraqi government as a terrorist organization as far as the legality of accepting funds from it is concerned (if it's now legal to accept them.)
