Head's up, put on Leno tonight or load up the VCR.
Dennis Miller kills, enthusiastically backs Bush on Iraq and bashes the Al Gore, the Dems, the French, and Sean Penn.
On the French: "The French wouldn't go to Iraq unless we convinced them there were truffles there.
On Penn: "Yeah, he's the kind of guy who if you say he isn't peaceful, he'll come to beat you up."
On Iraq: "Heat plus sand equals glass. I think we should go in there and bomb Baghdad until it looks like Superman's Dad's aparment on Krypton."
Must see.
I can't imagine the fear of going into bypass surgery knowing that your surgeon never even got a 'C' in any of their classes.
Maybe, but I quit watching him after his first two shows. The reason is his "humor" is ALWAYS "mean". There is nothing gentle about his "humor". He always goes for the dagger in the back. There is never even the suggestion of good-natured ribbing about it,only visciousness. Even where it isn't neccessary. He really seems to bust a nut over kicking somebody when they are down. He reminds me of the weasel kids we all knew in school who would wet his pants with joy at getting somebody in trouble.
Mom, you've GOT to listen to this!
BTW, I did listen to the first few minutes and he did say "I'm...I'm" and not "I'm not...".
I guess this explains why he's not appearing on HBO any more. I don't think the commielibs over there could handle it.
It just may be that part of this unexpected turn to the right could be the couple of years on Monday Night Football spent with Al Michaels. I understand Michaels is on a very tight leash not to make political comments on the air which, in liberalland, means only one thing - they don't like his politics.
That and 9-11 and having teenagers...maybe that could make somebody change.
For what it's worth.
I think it's sad what's happened to Leno. Some of his jokes make me cringe.
Here is an except where Miller mentions that he's not a Bush supporter...
You are wrong here. He says he is a "Bush fan".
I just reviewed the comments again. There are two reasons why I know that I am right having viewed this about 25 times by now.
1. The formation of I am vs not is clear. When saying "I am", or "I'm" the lips close to form "m". The formation of the word "not" leaves the mouth open. And at the time the not is being stated, Larry's mouth is open. He could not have been saying I am again.
2. If Miller were saying that he was a supporter of Bush, his head would have been stationary or moving up and down. His head is clearly moving from side to side
affirming the negative.
This issue bothers me because I have seen it 25 times. I know what he is saying. I do think it possible for someone to view it once and percieve that he said
something he didn't because his voice does fade somewhat right there. But after careful study of the video and audio, there simply isn't any room for discussion. He
said "I am not a Bush supporter." That's simply the truth of it.
I appreciate the comments and don't hold any animosity over this, but folks, accept reality.
Listen to his comments regarding Hastert and Lott just prior to this. I think it's clear that he isn't exactly in their camp, despite the fact that they would probably agree
with most of his comments last night.
Does this reflect poorly on Miller? Actually I think it speaks well of him. Here's a guy that doesn't seem to be adoring of Conservatives, yet he's willing to honestly
assess the issues. That's rather enlightened no matter what.
Due to some grammatical errors in my first post of this, I had the mod delete it. I am reposing it with corrections.
