The vocabulary is a bit limited in the DUmpster. If the DUh's mastery of the English language can be judged by the spittle-flecked rants posted there, at least a third of the words they use daily consist of the F-bomb.

You want to see something interesting William? Compare the differences between these two graphs from alexa.com. Pay particular attention to the differing values of the "Y" axis and the data point values for freerepublic.com (especially the peaks and valleys).

Are they making up these numbers up out of whole cloth or am I mis-reading them?

Looks fine to me, just differing Y-axis values. Both are logarithmic, but the peaks and valleys seem to correlate to my eyes

It's more than just different Y-axis values. Look at the peak in traffic in early January on the upper graph. It shows a peak in excess of 40,000 thousand hits. Where is it in the lower graph? Even if we presume that the Y-axis value of 40,000 really meant 4,000 (in the upper graph), where is the same peak in the lower graph? There are other discrepancies, too.

I think you might be reading the chart wrong. Some others were as well. The chart is not of hits, but of rank. And the 40,000 number was of DU dropping to 40,000 in rank, not FR.

Jim, I was wondering how long it would take to catch on.
Just as in hollyweird, even bad publicity is valuable, the trolls have been using the same technique here for a long time.

They start off by saying "I found this terrible thing and what do you think of it? Blah blah blah..."
Meantime, they have managed to post leftist drivel, and sucked a good number of readers into a protracted discussion.
