It's more than just different Y-axis values. Look at the peak in traffic in early January on the upper graph. It shows a peak in excess of 40,000 thousand hits. Where is it in the lower graph? Even if we presume that the Y-axis value of 40,000 really meant 4,000 (in the upper graph), where is the same peak in the lower graph? There are other discrepancies, too.

Huh?

I think you might be reading the chart wrong. Some others were as well. The chart is not of hits, but of rank. And the 40,000 number was of DU dropping to 40,000 in rank, not FR.
