Top UN weapons inspector Hans Blix said on Monday Iraq had refused to allow reconnaissance flights by U2 aircraft over its territory to aid inspectors in their search for any weapons of mass destruction...Well, shucks! I guess we won't be taking those flights after all.....

This is a part of the inspections regieme as per UN resolution. So Sadamm is not complying. That is a breach isnt it?

Are we keeping a scorecard of how many things Iraq won't permit?
Time to do away with this nonsense of UN Inspectors and go after Sadaam. He is only stalling to buy time and countries like Germany are aiding and abetting him!

It's indicative of the extent of Iraq's willingness to cooperate and be "transparent" with regard to the requirements of 1441.
BLIX just sealed their fate.

Ridiculous. As if Iraq could stop U2 flights.
And if we haven't been doing it all along, we are remiss in our duty to our soldiers who will have to fight on the ground. We have to gather all the information we can. - tom

Who really needs the U2 when we have satellites?

I'm feeling dumb here. Do we have a plane called the U2? I thought Gary Powers got shot down in one of those 40 years ago. Wasn't the U2 replaced by the SR-71? Are those still flying?

This could really get in the way of our attack plans. What if Iraq refuses to allow our troops to enter the country. How will we ever be able to attack?

This is such total bullsh*t. It's time to stop playing patty-cake with the UN and get the show on the road already. Enough is enough and every day that passes without action is another day Saddam has to strike the first blow (I'm amazed it hasn't happened already). If we don't get the show on the road within days after the Jan. 27th UN report then I wouldn't be suprised if the whole shebang gets scuttled altogether.

No U-2? Guess we better try B-2 instead.
