..had the District Attorney been kept in the dark by the now-fired Assistant D.A., it might have remained covered up....

I find that *really* hard to believe, Tommy.

Think about it. Too many people knew. The bloke who took the mug shot. The camera crew at the Burger King. The assistant DA, the assistant DA's boyfriend...matter of fact, a good question is, why didn't this come out earlier? Who wanted the lid kept on it, until the optimum time?

"Put Mrs mass55th on the computer, now. I want to find out if you've always been this easily manipulated."

I got news for you Byron, I'm a 55 year old broad, who has spent the past 23 years dealing with convicted felons. I was married once, have two sons that I raised by myself, and look forward to retirement at the end of the year. I'm a Civil War buff to boot, ergo the mass55th handle. I live in New York State (about an hour and a half from Albany), and my oldest son lives in the Albany area. I may just have to go down there and break Scotty's nuts over this one.

..that pretty well obviates your thesis that he had, and expected to continue to have, protection from the press on the issue of his brutish sexual behavior...

Well we're getting off the topic, but I don't think even Emmett Tyrell would describe the Spectator as 'the press.' Back then it was always portrayed as some sort of right wing tinfoil scandal sheet. I meant the mainstream networks, and left and east coast dailies, which when they finally had to comment, eagerly went with the 'it's just about sex' spin.

You know, I'm finding you to be a boor, and a pretender. To drop the name of the editor of a publication as if you are in his mind, when I have known and worked closely with him for over thirty years says a lot more about you than anything else you have written.

That obscure, tinfoil publication, got more than 1,200 press clippings over just that one story in December, 1993, and those were just the ones that our own clipping service caught.

It also led to a very public (perhaps you missed it) federal investigation against a publication presumably protected by the first amendment.

If you haven't gotten the point yet, you are more obtuse than even I have suspected.

Back in the olden days, when we had tag lines Servant of the Nine used to put "candy little girl?" in his when he was hitting up on the wimmin on the FReepoles thread.

He has started doing in again, now that tag lings have been resurected.

We've been picking on each other for YEARS and I couldn't very well let this chance go!

(Just don't tell him I'm having lunch with his girlfriend Thursday)...

Ritter was on a ship with 100 girl guides when it hit an iceberg and started to sink.
The captain announced, "We’re sinking! Everyone abandon ship!"
Ritter asked, "What about the children?"
The captain replied, "F*ck the children!"
Ritter looked around eagerly and said, "Do you think we have time?"

What's the difference between greyhound racing and Scott Ritter?
The greyhounds wait for the hare.

Have you heard about Scott Ritter's New Book?
It's called, "The In's and Out's of Child Rearing

Why was Scott Ritter spotted at Old Navy?
He heard girls pants were half-off!

My point was, there is no way The American Spectator can be portrayed as 'the press.' Apologies if that reality upsets you.

But things did not work out as planned. In the early months of 1995 circulation began falling. From its high of 309,000, in February of 1995, it had fallen to around 200,000 by the time the new design was unveiled. And the hoped-for new advertising revenues did not materialize.

Ritter is nothing more than a self-aggrandizing twit who is doing his very best to become as controversial as possible. His prior life as a Major and U.N. inspector makes him no more of an expert on foreign policy than you or me or any other person with an opinion.

He has thrust himself in the limelight continously in an effort to promote his own agenda. Consequently, he is fair game for every possible political attack which may come his way.

Huh?

That's the same justification the Dems used with their 'Bush, the coke and booze freak' smears.
