For the story behind the story...
C-Span has decided to continue its practice of covering anti-war demonstrations by ANSWER, an amalgamation of radical left-wing groups that will gather in Washington, D.C. on Saturday to stage a protest against U.S. plans to disarm Saddam Hussein by force.
But the public affairs network has refused to carry the "Patriots Rally for America" counter demonstration in D.C. the same day.
"C-SPAN has covered the last four ANSWER anti-war rallies in D.C.," complained Patriots organizer Kristinn Taylor. "Yet it's shown only one of our three counter-demonstrations to them."
While the ANSWER gang can usually rely on many of the usual Hollywood suspects to lend star-power to their gathering, Taylor said the line-up at the Patriots rally will be somewhat less glamorous, explaining, "We don't have any Hollywood stars, just a bunch of veterans who wish that their voices be heard."
Also missing from the Patriots rally: the Iraqi flag, the Palestinian Liberation Organization flag and any flag representing Hezbollah, the terrorist group that blew up the Marine barracks in Beirut in 1983 killing 243 GIs. All three flags, however, have been displayed prominently at past ANSWER gatherings.
Actually, for those who aren't viscerally opposed to everything America stands for, the Patriots rally line-up ought to be quite stellar. Former Congressman Robert K. Dornan will address the gathering, after Capt. Frank Davis, U.S. Navy (Ret.) leads off with a reading of Red Skelton's always-moving version of the Pledge of Allegiance.
Also on hand will be African-American Republican Leadership Council spokesman Kevin Martin, fresh from his triumphant appearances on Fox News Channel's "Hannity & Colmes" and "The O'Reilly Factor," where he sounded the alarm about Senate Grand Kleagle Robert "KKK" Byrd.
Other featured speakers will include UPI columnist John Armor, Aziz Al-Taee of the Iraqi-American Council and Joel Kernodle, spokesman for the group MOVEOUT!
Taylor, who heads of the D.C. Chapter on the group FreeRepublic.com, will be emceeing the event.
For those who want to attend the rally C-Span won't cover, the Patriots kick off their counter-demonstration at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Constitution Gardens on the Mall off 21st Street and Constitution Avenue.

"Byrd is criticizing the Bush administration's foreign policy, saying it makes this country look like a "belligerent bully." BWAHAHAHAHA!!! The ConscienceOfTheSenate is losing his faculties, I'm afraid. Seems he totally ovelooked the Senseless Massacre of Innocent Kosovars committed by Der SchleekMeister a few years back...I do not recall the SenileKlansman raisin' a stink back when Clinton was destroying America's good reputation with his bombastic abuse of American Power!!

We'll miss you, Race, but I'm glad you got some work. I was just looking at a very good picture of you doing porta-potty duty at the last rally. Fred Mertz brought his photos to share.

Go get 'em DC Chapter Freepers and Friends!Support our troops and the great Country they defend!
Let the hateful, bigoted, America-haters in tomorrow's mob know that we're on to them, and embarrass their naive, pacifist hangers-on with the company they choose to keep and the dangers they ignore!

In all fairness, I can't imagine watching C-Span. The novelty wore off a number of years ago.For me, I refuse to bother with cable, so C-Span is only something I see or hear about outside of home. Why subscribe to cable companies that are big contributors to the Left and promote all manners of Leftist propaganda?

An important tactical point your work has reminded us of. Thanks RodgerD, you've helped out a lot.
Well, on C-SPAN, you won't see any Iraqi dissidents. We'll have a speaker at our rally. NO SENSE ACTUALLY HEARING FROM THE IRAQI PEOPLE THEMSELVES, NOW, C-SPAN! NO SENSE LETTING THE TRUTH SLIP OUT BETWEEN THE CRACKS!

Thank you Newsmax.
Disarming Saddam IS the Peaceful Thing to Do.
Hmm, enough posting, I should be getting something warm on to go down to the rally site.

Good Morning, FTH!
I'm dissappointed today, Looks like I have no way to get to DC for the rally and I was looking forward to meeting you and seeing all these wonderful freepers like Kristinn and Angelwood and Fred Mertz as well as MUDBOY.
I wish you all a safe and fruitfill day and I hope I'll get to go to the next freep or rally.

Well, hmm, if there's no way you can get to DC, you could still help! We're looking for someone to post updates from the field in a live-action format. You know -- I'd call in on the cellphone and tell you what's going on and you'd post it on the thread. Would only need to be available between 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Any chance you'd want to do that? These threads can be really popular here.
(Anyone else want to do this?)
