A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day....01-14-03...Name That Freeper (It could be YOU!)

A Few of FR's Finest.....
......Every Day

FR is a Treasure Trove of talented, compassionate, patriotic, wonderful people who gather every day to discuss the latest news and issues; salute and support our military and our leaders;  tell a few jokes;  learn a new word;  write poetry;  pray for those in need;  and congratulate those who are deserving. Thank you, Jim Robinson, for giving us the vehicle in which we can express ourselves.

Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997.   I can remember lurking when there were only a few regulars who posted, and now there are over 60,000 who have registered for posting privileges. The forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.

A Few of FR's Finest November 11, 2001

So many people have written me since my original Veteran's Day Tribute, asking how they, or a loved one, could be included in that tribute. Since I can no longer add the photos to the body of the thread, I've been including them in additional posts as I received enough to make another collage.

Still that doesn't seem to be enough. I think there's never been a better nor more appropriate time to keep the faces of our own Veterans and Active Military in front of FReepers--every day! That's why I wanted to do yet another Daily Thread .....ABOUT FReepers .....and FOR FReepers. But not only about our Military FReepers; for all FReepers! Wouldn't it be nice to get to know a few of the other FReepers as well? That's why, in addition to seeing FR's Finest Military Personnel every day, I thought it might be fun to feature a different FReeper (or FReepers) each day. If you would like to be pictured, or know someone who would, please FReepmail me and we'll turn the spotlight - on YOU - for the day!

And do let me know if you'd like your picture added to the groups of Veterans/Active Military below. I will keep this page updated, and continue to add them to the comment section of the original Veteran's Day thread as well.

It's time for "Name That FReeper" again! Are you ready? It may be tough. These are oldies...I mean, WAAAAAAAAAAY back maybe a couple of years ago. :) Got your thinking caps on? No hints, but you can cheat and see if you recognize them in the Freeper Album. (If you can find the Freeper Album) Or you might can find a link to them on somebody's profile page, but I'm not tellin'. :)

Ok, first of all, that really "is" Tom Selleck, so disregard that one.
The original Freeper didn't want his picture on FR.

Thanks for Playing Name That FReeper!
These are ALL just more of FR's Finest!

Thanks, Mixer!

1) Click on the graphic to open the Calendar.
2) Once there you can click on any month and even click to the right to go into next year. Once you are in the month that you joined FR you will need to click on the number in the calendar and then an add item screen will come up.
3) In the next box enter your name in the "Calendar Text" field and then click on submit.
4) If any of the screens fail to load simply click on refresh in your browser and that will usually fix it.
5) If all else fails or simply if you want me to do this for you send me an FReepmail and I will gladly do it for you. ~Mixer

It's a hard thing to face. I keep thinking about the close call that Jack had and I praise God that I still have him with me. I think losing your spouse might be about the hardest thing there is. My heart goes out to SheLion.

Jack appears to be making a bit of improvement day to day. He's had a rough time of it. He is still in pain from the Shingles he had in his right eye and forehead. Then he tore the rotator cup (cuff?) in his right shoulder and that is very painful, but they can't operate on it because of his heart. At this point I think the heart problem doesn't bother him as much as the other things. He hasn't stopped though. He put his arm in a sling so he won't move it. He only missed one Sunday preaching and that was the Sunday he was in the hospital in Columbus. He goes to the studio almost every day for about half a day. He still manages our River Valley Opry. And, he talks about wanting to open a hobby shop. He has been pretty good about his diet, but the exercise program fell by the way. He wants to call walking two blocks to the studio his exercise LOL. He's impossible, but you don't tell Marines anything. Wonder why they call them jarheads?

I understand - and also sometimes if I see a face that I'm familiar seeing in a certain 'place', and then I see that person in another place, I'm not quite sure I know it's the same person! Physicist isn't in the photo. :) Click on the rest of this post with your mouse all the way down to my name. :)

Oh my gosh, Nan. I didn't know he had all that on top of the heart problem! Bless both your hearts! It has to be very hard on you, too, when he's in pain.

. He has been pretty good about his diet, but the exercise program fell by the way. He wants to call walking two blocks to the studio his exercise LOL. He's impossible, but you don't tell Marines anything. Wonder why they call them jarheads? : ) Sounds like he enjoys 'exercising' as much as I do!! Wouldn't it be great if we stayed in this wonderful physical shape, just because, and eating anything we wanted!!

Hi Nan

I think I would rather have snow!! It is still foggy today (1:30) so unless the sun breaks thru our temp will probably not get above 55. Yesterday was beautiful at 64. So far we have not gone for several days in a row with no sunshine. That gets sooo depressing after about the 8th day or so.
Just got home from an errand so I will try to catch up on the thread.

No problem. Poor SheLion. She was so cheerful just yesterday, adorning her posts with a cute graphic.

Thanks for the link, Miss Billie. No need to apologize. "Felled" was the word used in the prayer thread.

And I'm glad if he left us peacefully....

Boy I reckon! I love to eat way too much and it shows. Yes, poor Jack. He's had the Shingles for almost a year. The breaking out went away pretty quick, but the pain persists. I pray all the time that he will be pain-free. He calls 2002 his "Job" year. But, he says that the Lord is not done with him yet.
