It blows my mind that the Democrats have been and still are getting away with the big lie. It was the Republicans and Christians that fought the fight for abolition of slavery and civil rights. It was the Democrats that fought us on this. But now the Democrats have so many people believing that the Republicans and Christians are the racists. It just boggles the mind and proves to me how utterly incapable of telling the truth the Democrats are.

WE NEED AN INVESTIGATION
NOW ON WHETHER BYRD LYNCHED BLACKS IN THE '40s. And if he
did lynch any Black folks, will he now apologize on BET?
I want hearings. I want in depth news investigations. I want answers. Where is Frontline? Where is Bob Woodward? Where is Reverend Al and JJ?
Why does Byrd still wear the uniform of the Confederacy? Why does he always carry around that can of Ronson Lighter Fluid, Hmmmmmmm? Does he still eat at the Koffee Kup Kafe back in West Virginny?
These are series questions and we deserve the answers.

What documentation exists in the public record that demonstrates that Byrd ever left the Klan officially? Isn't it possible that he is still a member? How does one go about leaving a criminal organization "Officially"? Anybody know?
To: kristinn
In fairness to Sen. Byrd, noone has ever accused him of participating in a lynching and he has said that he never did. Well, if he was wearing one of those white sheets, how are we to know? I would almost bet that if we had a proper investigation, we would find that he still owns white sheets. I would just betcha.

Fax to: Tom Gavin
Press Secretary
As a follow-up to your January 7, 2003 meeting with Members of the African-American Republican Leadership Council and the Washington, D.C. Chapter of FreeRepublic.com, there are reports that you indicated you did not know the answers to many of their questions regarding Senator Byrds activities with the Ku Klux Clan when a member in the 1940s.
Please provide us a copy of your research into the unanswered questions:
· Do you know what Sen. Byrd did while he was in the Klan?
· Do you know what the Klan was doing in West Virginia in the 1940s when Sen. Byrd
· Were they lynching black people?
· Did Byrd's Klan chapter burn crosses on black peoples' lawns and run them out of town?
Your fax reply will be appreciated

He may have lynched a few in his youte, but he has had a change of heart; he has appologized and is a DemonRat so it really doesn't matter. Just move along and Dan Ratter, Brokelaw and Spinnings will tell you the trute about racism.
Pray for W and the Troops

The DC Chapter is to be commended, once again. They are a great group of dedicated warriors, and keep FR in the news very often.
Way to go, Kristinn and DC Chapter!

It would be interesting if these questions could be raised in a public forum.
Records must exist of KKK activities in the late 40's (as they would have for Arkansas church burnings) both in West Va and nationally. I don't see how questions like this can be credibly answered with an "I don't recall".

Was the KKK an illegal organization in 1944 or whenever it was Byrd supposedly left it?
On documentation, if the FBI was already infiltrating it then, I bet there's a lot of information on membership in FBI files.

Sen. Robert Byrd, D-WV, told protesters this week that he wasn't sure whether his boss had helped lynch any African-Americans when the top Senate Democrat was a member of the Ku Klux Klan in the 1940's.Give me a fricken break. Many people here are just mad becuase Lott got the boot. I swear to Christ this place looks more like du every day.
To: Spiff
But it was Hayes (R) who made a deal with the Southern States to become President of the US (he lost the popular vote but three southern states were deadlocked). This deal ended Reconstruction in return for promises that blacks would be given the right to vote ect. Those promises were immediately broken and thus this right wasn't achieved for 90 years. The blacks never got their 40 acres and a mule.
To be fair the Democrats were no longer interested in these black rights either.
To: Moosefart
Many people here are mad about the hypocrisy whereby the Dems tar and feather Lott, while their grand poohbah and King of Pork's notorious past is ignored. Few here had any regard for Lott; it's the double standard that infuriates.
