Now I sure could use some calm. Looking forward to meeting some freepers. Also have missed the Caribbean. Will be good to be back there. I loved it. Have great memories. All of you who are hesitating should give it some thought soon enough to get on board. Do hope to meet you too.

Very nice.

I'm going out now to knock over a few poorly-guarded convenience stores by way of financing.

LOL. Do like I do and sell plasma. Twice a week payments, and they give you free orange juice ;)

I tried that once, but I gave it up because my donors were making such pathetic whimpering sounds when they saw the syringe.

Even duct tape didn't do much to muffle the sounds.

Since I live in BFE, getting KKs on a Saturday is too much like work (as wonderful as they are when they are warm). I have to settle for Dolly Madison Powder Donettes and Hostess Ding Dongs (readily available at the feed store cum gas station cum stop-and-rob cum grocery store about a mile and a half away) - a cross I willingly bear to live where I do.

If I didn't have sugar and caffeine, I am quite sure I would simply melt into a puddle like the Wicked Witch of the West.

Rhetorical questions: Will there be coffee available 24/7 on the ship? Or will I have to smuggle my trusty, unbreakable 4-cup travel coffee maker deep within my grip, carefully wrapped in my socks and underpants like the most precious of jewels? Will I ever sleep again after I acquire several pounds of genuine Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee from its native land while on this cruise, then tap a vein with an IV needle to ingest it on the trip back? These and other questions will be answered at about 4 PM on 31 May, aboard the good ship Carnival Triumph.

WIN A FREE CABIN FOR TWO ON THE "FREEPS AHOY" CARIBBEAN CRUISE !!!

ANNOUNCING "THE TOM FREEPIE CRUISE CONTEST" - WINNER RECEIVES A FREE CABIN FOR TWO ON THE MAY 31, 2003 ONE-WEEK CARIBBEAN CRUISE ABOARD THE CARNIVAL "TRIUMPH", SPONSORED BY THE FREE REPUBLIC NETWORK !

Most of you freepers are familiar with "Tom Swifties", a one-line word game where the adverb is king! Here are some examples of Tom Swifties:

"I think my foot is broken", said the dancer defeatedly
"Darn, I dropped my toothpaste", said Tom crestfallenly
"I can't find my seat belt", said Tom without restraint.

You get the drift, folks. So welcome to our cruise contest which we have more aptly named "The Tom Freepie Contest".

Rules for the contest are posted below this announcement. Please read them carefully.

Your Tom Freepies MUST be connected to three topics: the Freeps Ahoy cruise, politics or foreign affairs. Quite a range for you to choose from. You may mix or match your Freepies.

Here are some examples to start your creative juices:

"I must find some sea shells in Grand Cayman", Tom clamored
"This cruise ship is leaking", said Tom balefully
"Who is the most wooden man alive?", asked Tom allegorically
"Senator Miller would make a good Republican", said Tom zellously
"I can't believe I ate the whole pineapple", said Tom dolefully
"The Iraq situation is very grave", said the undertaker cryptically
"Egypt is our friend", said Tom, deep in denial
"Arafat looks like a goat", said Ariel Sharon kiddingly

Have at it, Freepers. You all have an equal opportunity to win the big seafaring prize!

"I know you Freeper contestants will come up with flashes of brilliance", sez Dittomom lightheartedly.

Chair, Cruise Contest Committee
