Some kids never get a fair shot at life, do they?

Somewhere, a democratic pundit is figuring out how to make this Bush's fault.
To: wimpycat
This is disgusting. The crazy broad COULD have just thrown them out to the street and they would have eventually been sheltered.

Let me guess...
She was on welfare,
Or another kind of state assistance program like,
Foodstamps,
AIDC
Maybe child support...
It angers me. I want to know what the entire story is...and MOST importantly...
Who dropped the BALL.

"...Somewhere, a democratic pundit is figuring out how to make this Bush's fault..." Which will be a bit of a stretch, given that the principals here are 90% likely to be democrats.

Imagine yourself being a little kid and locked in a closet for weeks on end...like that little girl in Texas.
This sort of thing messes you up for life, not to mention having 1) a mother that just drops you off with a grade-A NUT and takes off and 2) no father, 3) no one in your young little life that is worth a damn or that you can count on for anything.
Even Shawn Slappy (LOL!), the boyfriend, had enough human decency to call the police, even though he's probably a loser as well. But I tend to believe he didn't know about the kids.

Think the Couric's of the world will rush to the defense of the mother as they did with Andrea Yates?

Tragic.
To: OldFriend
I dunno, I wasn't thinking of this tragedy in political terms but in human terms.
Actually, the mother is supposedly in the hospital, but the article doesn't say how long she's been there. Still, I think she's an unfit mother for leaving her children in the care of a monster who should have her children permanently removed and her tubes tied, but it's the monster, not the mother, with whom I wouldn't mind being alone in a room with a cattle prod and some duct tape.

Looks like more evidence of that ole fashioned Islamic love.....yes, were will the NOW and NARAL gaggle of hags be in defending this monster?

No doubt. Isn't Katie Couric a disgusting person?
To: wimpycat
I wonder what was with the mother? Why would she just give her kids over to this woman? Didn't she care enough to call and make sure things were okay? It's incredible how sick this woman is, though. To starve these kids, and of all things to just throw the child away, as if it were an animal!

Unfortunately in America there is a segment of the population that have IQ's below room temperature, breed like rabbits and are as useless to society as the cockroach. And they come in all colors, so Al Sharpton ain't gonna be any help to you.

I'd vote for Al Sharpton if he could convince these "dads" to marry the assorted cows they impregnate. What good would that do? I never cease to be amazed at "conservatives'" belief in the supernatural powers of a government-issued marriage license. These "dads" would behave exactly the same way they do now, after having such a license bestowed on them. Just as civilized fathers who live with and help raise and support their children would keep right on doing so if the government stopping issuing/recognizing these licenses, and/or began issuing them to any and every assortment of two or more adults who plunked down the license fee.
