Edinburg, Texas - Six shot to death in Valley home invasion
Associated Press | January 5, 2002

Six men were shot to death early Sunday in a home invasion, Edinburg police said.

Police believe the assailants were searching for weapons and drugs. A witness, who was tied up during the shooting, told police that one of the assailants wore some clothing that carried the word "police" on it.

Police had made no arrests late Sunday afternoon, Sgt. Rey Ramirez said.

Five people were found dead in one house and another person dead in a second house on the same property, Ramirez said.

Police were called to the rural scene by the survivor. Neighbors reported hearing shots fired but did not see anything, Ramirez said.

Ramirez said police believe there were four to five armed intruders.

The names of the victims were not released Sunday night. Ramirez said police knew two of the victims from a previous investigations. He did not have information on what type of investigations.

Nothing more needs said.

That's the magic word.

We need to collect all incidents of home invaders gaining access via the fake police ruse. It's just to easy to get a black jacket with "POLICE" across it. In the event anyone ever gets into a shooting match with black clad JBTs at 0300 AM, it will be useful to point to a reasonable fear of fake police home invaders.

"I don't think the survivor would have called the police if the police were who did it."

Seems odd that a "witness" would be deliberately left behind after everybody else was killed -- a bound witness who somehow managed to call the police and tell them that an assailant was wearing a "police" jacket.

I don't think the police were involved in this crime. And I wouldn't be surprised if this "witness" soon became a suspect.

The only protection against this is to fortify your house so neither the police nor mock-police CAN force entry. Now if it's real police they can always get something to get in, like the tank the LAPD uses on crack houses. But your average Vietnamese gang is going to give up when the door doesn't give in to a sledge, especially if the occupants start firing on them.

The return of castle architecture is long overdue in our newly insecure states.

bump .... and people wonder why ALL dynamic entries should be fought.

A no-knock warrant is a B&E under color of law. All B&E's on my household will be met with maximum resistance.

Fake cops kill 6 men in home invasion

EDINBURG — Gunmen dressed as cops barged into two homes in a rural neighborhood here early Sunday, killing six men after demanding drugs, money and weapons, local authorities said.

The home invasion robbery claimed the lives of two sets of brothers from different families — the only four victims that had been identified by late evening, although authorities were not releasing their names.

"We are still trying to identify the other individuals (and) because of the gunshot wounds they received, it is very difficult right now," said Sgt. Rey Ramirez Sr., chief of detectives for the Edinburg Police Department. "They got shot in the head. They sprayed the bodies. We are looking at some type of weapon that is possibly fully automatic."

The two old wood-frame homes where the shootings took place were in the same lot, in a neighborhood in the city's Northeast Side. The victims were all men between 20 and 32 years old.

In one home, the mother of two of the victims, ages 24 and 32, was tied up with electrical cords along with one of her sons. The only one not gunned down, she called 911 after the killers fled.

She told police they demanded drugs, weapons and money before spraying the men with bullets, and she said one of the killers wore a ski mask and a garment with the word "police" printed on it.

Ramirez, who said there might have been four to five assailants, added they had no suspects as of Sunday night.

Police say the fact that gunmen wore either a T-shirt or jacket bearing the word "police" is not uncommon here. In the past four to five years they have reported an increase in pseudo-cop incidents.

"This has been one of the most horrible crimes in my 22 years of law enforcement here in our city. This has been one of the worse homicides I have worked," Ramirez said. "If we do catch anyone, they will be charged with capital murder."

via the fake police ruse

They do this in Mexico so we can't be surprised they'll do it here.

If it's drug cartels against you they'll get you no matter what you do. They'll wait until you go out to eat, they'll execute while you're driving your car. We had one drug dealer get it on I-10 in rush hour traffic downtown with his wife and kid there but they didn't get killed.

I'm surprise how little attention this has gotten overall from the media. I vaguely recall a case a while back where a woman was WOUNDED and the media was in a frenzy over the story.

The only difference in this crime and a no-knock is that these thugs didn't have any badges.

Don't bet your life on that. Crooked cops are often used as the *little fingers* or executioners by the drug gangs in Mexico, and the narcotrafficantes have been successful in hiring the badges and guns of Americans in law enforcement too, if too a lesser degree.

Then there are those Mexican operations like those of the Hererra drug trafficing family, actively protected by the US government at very high levels for political reasons, during both Democrat and Republican administrations.
