Six men were shot to death early Sunday in a home invasion, Edinburg police said.Police believe the assailants were searching for weapons and drugs. A witness, who was tied up during the shooting, told police that one of the assailants wore some clothing that carried the word "police" on it.
Police had made no arrests late Sunday afternoon, Sgt. Rey Ramirez said.
Five people were found dead in one house and another person dead in a second house on the same property, Ramirez said.
Police were called to the rural scene by the survivor. Neighbors reported hearing shots fired but did not see anything, Ramirez said.
Ramirez said police believe there were four to five armed intruders.
The names of the victims were not released Sunday night. Ramirez said police knew two of the victims from a previous investigations. He did not have information on what type of investigations.
We need to collect all incidents of home invaders gaining access via the fake police ruse. It's just to easy to get a black jacket with "POLICE" across it. In the event anyone ever gets into a shooting match with black clad JBTs at 0300 AM, it will be useful to point to a reasonable fear of fake police home invaders.
Seems odd that a "witness" would be deliberately left behind after everybody else was killed -- a bound witness who somehow managed to call the police and tell them that an assailant was wearing a "police" jacket.
I don't think the police were involved in this crime. And I wouldn't be surprised if this "witness" soon became a suspect.
The return of castle architecture is long overdue in our newly insecure states.
A no-knock warrant is a B&E under color of law. All B&E's on my household will be met with maximum resistance.

They do this in Mexico so we can't be surprised they'll do it here.
Don't bet your life on that. Crooked cops are often used as the *little fingers* or executioners by the drug gangs in Mexico, and the narcotrafficantes have been successful in hiring the badges and guns of Americans in law enforcement too, if too a lesser degree.
Then there are those Mexican operations like those of the Hererra drug trafficing family, actively protected by the US government at very high levels for political reasons, during both Democrat and Republican administrations.
