"This is from me to those that have not written yet, please write, use it,
tell about your family, your hobbies, how the weather is, what are you planning for the holidays.
Tell a funny thing that happened, send a joke anything. Tell about your pets and kids.
We miss home and it means a lot to hear from everyone."

Help From The Homefront
Thousands of San Diego-based sailors and Marines will spend the holidays in foreign waters aboard U.S. warships deployed in the Persian Gulf and the Western Pacific. NBC 7/39 has contacted all of the deployed ships and most have responded, saying they would love to hear from the folks back home during the holidays. Fill in the form below. We will forward your message of support to our fighting men and women aboard the USS Shiloh, USS Mobile Bay,
USS Bunker Hill, USS Valley Forge, USS Higgins, USS Milius and USS Thach.
Copy and paste this link in your message to invite the military to visit the Canteen.

Well the Diamond Walnuts San Francisco Bowl (believe it or not) was last night, and my alma mater lost to Virginia Tech when they should have stomped 'em. None of the other Bowls matter much now, but I'll watch the Gator Bowl since my son is attending the game; might catch a glimpse of him in the stands or something. :)
Happy New Year, all.

A PRAYER OF PROTECTION
The light of God surround you The love of God enfold you The power of God protect you The presence of God watch over you Wherever you are,God is, And all is well. Amen.
.
Bless This House
Bless this house O Lord we pray;
Make it safe by night and day;
Bless these walls so firm and stout,
Keeping want and trouble out:
Bless the roof and chimneys tall,
Let thy peace lie over all;
Bless this door, that it may prove
ever open to joy and love.
Bless these windows shining bright,
Letting in God's heav'nly light;
Bless the hearth a'blazing there,
with smoke ascending like a prayer;
Bless the folk who dwell within,
keep them pure and free from sin;
Bless us all that we may be
Fit O Lord to dwell with thee;
Bless us all that one day we
May dwell O Lord with thee.

Today's FEEBLE attempt at humor:
(Kathy, you're gonna LOVE this one)
A new young bride calls her mother in tears. She sobs,
"Robert doesn't appreciate what I do for him."
"Now, now," her mother comforted, "I am sure it was
all just a misunderstanding."
"No, mother," the young woman laments. "I bought a
frozen turkey loaf and he yelled at me about the price."
"Well, that is being miserly," the mother agreed,
"Those turkey rolls are only a few dollars."
"No, mother it wasn't the price of the turkey roll,
it was the airplane ticket."
"Airplane ticket.... What did you need an airplane
ticket for?"
"Well mother, when I went to fix it, I looked at the
directions on the back and it said, 'PREPARE FROM A
FROZEN STATE,' so I flew to Alaska."
