Good Morning, Fine FReepers! It's almost next year, which means that today's almost last year. Hope you have all had a marvelous Christmas Holiday - one more week and things should return to normal. :)
Am including John Huang's Ping List to read his wonderful new essay.

"Bush doesn't just react to events, he leverages his vigorous and forceful command of the stage to frame issues and shape opinion with almost unheard of alacrity, leaving foes befuddled and frustrated. Undergirding the dynamism and vigor, the energy and spirit he brings to the presidency is a trust and respect, a bonding and public affection for George W. Bush almost unique in its dimensions. This President -- confident, unflinching, assertive, impassioned, tenacious -- keeps making history, raising the bar on presidential performance standards, building a mighty legacy future historians will marvel over for years. When America speaks, thanks to the leadership of George W. Bush, the world, whether it likes it or not, now listens." Heck, Dubyuh, if I didn't know better I'd say JH2 thinks yer doin' A-OK!!

"Time must think Americans are blithering idiots." What the heck's "TIME" magazine?! Never heard of it...MUD
To: JohnHuang2
So Time magazine is continuing their relentless quest to be irrelevant and unread.

Another outstanding essay, Your Excellency!
..... I really think that Time stretched the point so far this year that even the average idiot can see through their bias. Even mindless morons expect the winner of this award to be someone they've actually heard of during the year. Sheesh!
Billie ~~~ wonderful background montage for John's essay on President Bush! Your artistic skills never cease to amaze me!

With all due respect to Cynthia Cooper, Coleen Rowley and Sherron Watkins, Time's Persons of the Year 2002, this triumvirate of 'whistleblowers' were not the people with the greatest impact on shaping the year's events -- Time's bench mark. Media celebrity prima donnas, perhaps, but Persons of the year? Ah, don't think so. You got that right .. when I heard their names, I thought to myself, You have got to be kidding.
When I watched Coleen Rowley at the Senate Committee Hearing, she had NOTHING to say or offer and made the Dems look like fools
BRAVO JOHN .. as always .. you have the BEST 2 CENTS!!!

Er, Watkins and Cooper were, far from 'whistleblowers', enablers at best, aiders-and-abetters at worst, keeping the lid jealously tight on inside company flimflam/chicanery/theft -- 'creative accounting' shell games which came to light, ultimately not by whistleblowing, but when public disclosure became unavoidable and companies collapsed.
Exactly. Watkins is particularly troubling. She was so much a part of it -- a person who COULD have blown the whistle much earlier and save Enron shareholders millions and didn't. As usually, you're completely Right, JohnHuang!
