The campaign germinated from a major internal study at Ford and Jaguar on how to reach gay consumers, which tend to be fairly affluent with a taste for luxury goods. Ford estimates there are some 14 million gay and lesbian consumers in the United States who wield $450 billion in purchasing power.

So, if a gay car buyer wants to stay in the closet, does he buy a Hummer?

Mike Wilke, head of the Commercial Closet Association, a New York group that tracks advertising in the gay marketplace, criticized the ad as a bit too soft, saying the buzzword "partner" was the only thing that signaled something outside the mainstream.

Extra long steering column, because the driver's always in the back.

Does Jaguar even sell cars anymore? Yeah, OK, but it can't be all that many. Their new cars look like a Ford Taurus or Ford Contour. Jaguar cashed in its reputation of being a stylish luxury sedan.

Jaguar, the Ford-owned maker of British luxury cars, discovered in recent years that many gay consumers were visiting its dealer showrooms

We are always supposed to say, "Not that there is anything WRONG with that", to be Politically Correct.

So..I tried changing the screen name to something like "Percy Prettybum", or "Faery Tail" but it would not accept the change....Haha.

What if a NOW publication does a supportive story about how sales won't decline for the automaker and cites a few female friends of Elton John who want to buy them?

Don't gag, the nags' rag mags all tagged Jag. Sales won't lag. Fag hags bag Jags.

(I couldn't fit in "wag". I'm so ashamed.)
