Patty Murray, the senior senator from Washington State, met to shmooze with a bunch of high school students a few days ago She got around to considering why Oasana bin Ladin is beloved throughout the Third World. Senator Murray knew the answer. Listen up.

"Why are people so supportive of him in many countries . . . that are riddled with poverty? He's been out in these countries for decades, building schools, building roads, building infrastructure, building day care facilities, building health care facilities, and the people are extremely grateful. We haven't done that. ... How would they look at us today if we had been there helping them with some of that rather than just being the people who are going to bomb in Iraq and go to Afghanistan?...We've got to ask, why is this man [Osama bin Laden] so popular around the world?"

This is sublime fatuity, foolishness squared.

Senator Murray is depicting bin Ladin as a bearded Lady Bountiful or perhaps Father Christmas, skipping from country to country leaving a trail of goodies while smiling natives praise his multitudinous kindnesses and press his photo to their breasts. The picture is lunatic. Does Senator Murray have a screw loose?

It's a legitimate question, and the answer is "Yes."

She has totally omitted from her consciousness the airliners full of terrified passengers crashing into the Trade Towers and the Pentagon at bin Ladin's command. She has omitted the Muslim crowds cheering death and destruction visited on the Great Satan, the United States.

By press release, she has recanted in Clintonian fashion. Read it and weep. It's more silliness, artful silliness, contemptuous silliness. Who does she think she's kidding?

Senator Murray:

As a registered voter in Washington State, I find your recent comments about Bin Laden to be unbecoming of a US Senator, and if these things you told the children are what you truly believe then you are unfit to be in your position. (Besides being unqualified to begin with.) While Trent Lott was forced to resign from his position in the Senate for remarks which were insignificant in comparison to yours, I highly doubt that you will do anything more than issue some bullshit revision of history and deny that you ever said these things or that they were taken out of context - as that is the typical way that things like this are handled in your party of liars, cheats, and America bashers.

No, I have never voted for you - always against. Now I hope that enough of us here in this state can put you back to your old job of being a "soccer mom" next time you come up for re-election. I only wish it were sooner or that you had made these remarks before this year's election. Your socialistic blame America for the world's problems attitude sickens me nearly as much as Mc Dermott's or either of the Clintons. I will sincerely relish the day that politicians like yourself are only found in history books, and not in the highest legislative chamber of our nation. You are ill deserving of the term "Senator".

Here Here!! I live in Wa. state and everything you said about this insipid Clinton Kool Aid Drinker is true and more. The Seattle libs keep Patty Murray in office in hopes of getting a lite rail bill through at tax payer expense and she is their girl. She never has had a thought of her own and loves socialist commie big gov control as you said. I wish like everything this story had legs, but I fear the holidays will take it off the talk shows and front page. We could get her out of office in Wa. state, but the labor unions support her and their money his huge. Murray thought that because she was speaking to high schoolers, that the NEA and the local teachers union chapter would keep her quotes private. Apparently, some of the high schoolers are smarter than she is! They must have taken their government lessons at home, or a private school.

The rotton apples in Washinton state's basket are many with McDermott, Cantwell and Murray. The state would support a GOP run, but noone with enough of what it takes ever will try. The last was Linda Smith who ran for Murray's seat and the GOP didn't lay enough in the state to help her.

Wrong, she was talking to students from my town, Vancouver, Wa..the paper picked it up along with the talk shows across the country and Murray couldn't get out there quick enough to cover it with spin the next day. Her term is up in 2004. Let's find a cosy funny farm for her on some otherwise deserted island--or maybe a day care center in Afghanistan funded by Osana bin Ladin.

E-Mails can be handled by computers without ever being seen by human eyes. It is best to print out what you write and send it snail mail. Then they have to physically handle it and at least read the first sentence.
