Alcoholics know that you have to reach rock bottom before most people will change.

I hope that we have hit bottom.

The first step towards solving a problem is identifying the problem; unfortunately Rev Peterson has a message that could not be heard from a white mouth.

I have heard Rev. Peterson on the radio & he is a brilliant, articulate spokesman for his point of view.

Democrats, overall, do not want blacks to be better off. If blacks were to "improve", they might not vote 90% Democrat anymore.

Can't have that.

Rev. Peterson is right once again. Proof of how the black community has lost its soul can be seen in their demand for affirmative action programs. A group of people with self-respect would be ashamed to demand preferential treatment. They would take even the suggestion as an insult.

But instead, so-called black leaders such as Jackson, Sharpton, the black caucus, and the BET crowd have no qualms about demanding such favoritism for themselves and their fellow blacks. This shows that they have simply accepted the dogma that they can't succeed without preferential treatment. That's hardly something to be proud of, and something most people would be ashamed of. Yet, it doesn't shame them a bit.

I was listening to an adult standards radio station the other night, and they played some records by classic black artists such as Nat King Cole and the Mills Brothers. It occurred to me how much black music has deteriorated. Today, much of black music is represented by vulgar and totally unmusical rap garbage, a bunch of idiots chanting about killing cops or molesting girls.

It says something about the destructiveness of liberalism that the black family unit survived slavery and Jim Crow, but was destroyed by the Great Society.

Pray that men like Rev. Peterson can someday replace the likes of John Conyers and Maxine Waters as representatives of the black community.

That bore repeating.

Black conservative ping

If you want on (or off) of my black conservative ping list, please let me know via FREEPmail. (And no, you don't have to be black to be on the list!)

Extra warning: this is a high-volume ping list.

That was a great sermon, if you will.
I agree that this is a message for all. I tell you what though- despite how terribly depressing and sad the waste of people lost to ignorance and misdirection, it warms the heart to know there are people out there, both black and white and all colors, who are thinking, and taking a stand.

When, in Seattle, a black bank robber pulled a gun on a cop and was killed, the Black Leadership marched down Interstate 5 in protest, disrupting the commute for hundreds of thousands of people.

Y'all are going to have to wake up. I'm not holding my breath in the mean time.

Too many conservatives are mushy on affirmative action. They say it's okay if there are no quotas, etc. What they miss is that affirmative action is evil. While being government-mandated can make it even more so, even institutions which voluntarily implement such programs often do more harm than good.

If 95% of the students from a public school lack reading or math skills, the solution isn't to suggest that colleges or employers should accept 5% of such students because they're in the top 10% of their class. Unfortunately, that's what liberals seem to propose, even though [or perhaps because] all it does is hide the fact that the NEA et al. have crippled those students.

To those who favor affirmative action, I would offer the following thought experiment: imagine a school has a policy that any blue-eyed applicant who scores in the 50th %l or better on the SAT will be admitted, but non-blue-eyed applicants have to be in the 95th %l. Imagine further that school policy dicates that blue-eyed students must be given straight A's regardless of academic achievement, even though only 3% of non-blue-eyed students manage a 4.0 gradepoint.

Finally, imagine that you're an employer looking at two job applicants who graduated from this school. One has a 3.9GPA, and has brown eyes. The other has a 4.0GPA, and happens to have blue eyes. Which applicant would you favor? If you favor the former, does that mean you're biased against blue-eyed people?

God bless this man.

He has truly touched a lot more people than he realizes. I think he needs to know.

I suggest we 'freep' him and let him know that neither the 'black' or 'white' soul is dead - his message is getting out.

I'm sure many FReepers, while growing up, were annoyed when we had to work for things, and couldn't always get what we wanted. We may not have appreciated it then, but we recognized as adults that it was those limitations that made us grow up. Given a choice, we would never have had to face such limitations and thus never would have grown up.

Unfortunately, liberals have managed to breed a race of perpetual children who--being children--don't want to grow up; the liberals shelter these children from any part of grim reality that might force them to grow up, and the children welcome such protection.

I don't know any way to convince third-generation children that they need to grow up. Perhaps if conservative blacks were to speak frankly about the way the underclass is 'babied' in this country, though, some might catch on. After all, the last thing an overgrown child wants is to be called one.

There's a verse in the Book of Isaiah that says: "Children are their oppressors, and women rule over them." Technology changes, people don't. When men get weak, pain comes in waves.

Isaiah chapter 3. Just looked it up. I don't know that I'd read that part of the Bible before, but it does seem to fit society pretty well.

Thanks for your mail and response. Public assistance that rewards indolence and prevents the consequences of degeneracy - doing without - inculcates depraved, selfish thinking.
