Immigration: Where is the OUTRAGE??
The Sierra Times ^ | Dec. 20, 2002 | Jackie Juntti

Posted on 12/21/2002 8:57:28 AM PST by madfly

I have been surfing the many news pages for months, and all the headlines, for the most part on a daily basis, mention the "War" in the Middle East. It is either Iraq, bin Laden, Palestine, Saudi Arabia or the like. Many articles about America going to fight over in that part of the world - the pretext being that we are fighting "terrorism".

I have yet to see headlines about the Invasion of America on our Southern Border. The SILENCE is deafening on this topic. The only time I read articles related to the Mexican invasion is when one or another ILLEGAL INVADER is spotlighted as not being able to get "instate tuition" at some tax funded school, or one of them needs very expensive medical care. All of this type of "news" coverage is based upon the bleeding heart mentality that we rich Americans should be opening our national door and bringing in all who wish to come and benefit from our years of hard work.

We have laws regarding "immigration" and we have a procedure to be followed to legally enter America. Many foreigners follow those rules and eventually are able to enter - legally - and then apply to become citizens. I welcome each and every one of those people. Members of my family originally entered America in this manner, coming in through Ellis Island. Another part of my family was here to greet them, as they were native Americans.

I can't fathom the silence of the media in reporting on the stealth invasion of America by all those who avoid detection at legal entry points. I can't understand why they are not making this a daily headline, with the numbers in bold print as they did during the Viet Nam war with the body counts.

I can't fathom why Bush, Cheney, Colin Powell, Ashcroft, and all those in Congress are not doing daily press conferences, alerting Americans to the invasion that has been, and continues to take place every single day of the year.

Where is the OUTRAGE they had following Sept. 11th? Do we need planes diving into buildings and fires raging in order to stand in front of cameras saying that AMERICA IS UNDER ATTACK!!!

Why are the leaders of this nation so silent on this INVASION at our Southern Border? What is the back room deal that has been cut to keep the Welcome Wagon Ladies standing there, tables heaped high with goodies paid for by the America taxpayer? Why are we not condemning Vicente Fox for sending in his stealth operatives as we condemn Osama bin Laden and his ilk? What is the difference?

We have almost daily "ALERTS!" about some threat of some kind from the "terrorists" but nothing about the INVASION of AMERICA from Mexico and elsewhere. Why is there such SILENCE on this matter?

Recently, Rudy Giulliani went to Mexico as a consultant to deal with the alarming crime rate there. In fact, he was alleged to be the target of a kidnapping attempt while there. I hope "dealing with the Mexican crime rate" doesn't mean sending them North to the U.S. Vicente Fox and his Coyotes have been doing that job already, and quite successfully.

I can hardly wait for Sen. 'Chatty' Patty Murray of Washington to hold a press conference exclaiming how Fox & Coyotes have built schools and all those same good things she is now applauding bin Laden for. Perhaps we will have Jim McDermott standing along side of her telling of his recent visit and how wonderful those folks are that just want to find a "better life" in America. Even better would be for all this to be "Bipartisan", and all those GOP politicians could stand with them pushing open the borders so everyone can have a miserable life when America is finally brought to her knees by the INVASION taking place before our eyes.

I am telling you, there is something mighty strange going on. America is being invaded and the leaders of America are pushing to open the gate even wider to the invaders. They have already granted AMNESTY to thousands and now want to grant more options for the last wave of invaders. They are keeping a lid on any news that exposes this invasion - twisting it to promote only the "plight" of those poor downtrodden ILLEGALS, so as to build up more bleeding hearts to open our homes to the invading troops. They won't even refer to them as what they are - illegal invading troops - they refer to them as "undocumented aliens" - that is supposed to make us feel sorry for them and to ignore the fact that our laws have been violated.

We also have George W. Bush - the president of AMERICA - opening the Social Security benefits to Mexicans. I guess welfare, education, health care, housing, unemployment, isn't enough. We need to send them SS checks too.

Maybe we should bring Rudy Giulliani back here to deal with the ALARMING CRIME RATE in the Federal Government. We have men in high places openly subverting American law and our Constitution. If nothing else, maybe Rudy, with his recent experience at attending funerals, could officiate over the death of America as we knew it.

Where is the OUTRAGE?

Bye, bye, Miss American Pie, Drove my Chevy to the levee but the levee was dry. Them good ol' boys were drinking whiskey and rye Singing 'This'll be the day that I die, 'This'll be the day that I die.'"

You really shouldn't be posting, if you're too lazy to read the whole thread. The majority of Mexicans (58%) believe that the American Southwest rightfully belongs to Mexico.
Are you always such an ass? Or do you take seriously the public opinion of the rest of the world? Go poll Pakistan about American foreign policy. Go ask Germans about Dubya. Like the Mexicans, they can all go to hell.

I won't. And I won't stop posting. You can go wherever you like.

Just don't forget to tip the busboy. (After you ask for his green card, that is).

Wait. I tell you what. When 58% of Feepers want me to shut up, I'll go away. Meanwhile, have you any argument?

I just clicked on the link I provided - www.aztlan.org - and the internet traffic (probably from Freepers) appears to be too much for them. Try later, if you can't get on now. They're one sick group.

They want to be Americans. Americans are people who live in America.

Aw, c'mon Ben! People on these threads don't hate Mexicans (which, for most of them means ANYONE who speaks Spanish within their earshot--even if

Looks like we got another one of those with x-ray vision that can see hate spelled in just any word in the dictionary.

Another water carrier checks in.

Democrats will destoy this country if this keeps up.

' We have to call things as they are. The Republicans, especially our President, is very much in favor of this. He has been pushing this since the day he took office. If it had not been for 9/11, the amnesty would have been completed already. No, we must recognize the truth, the Republicans are to blame also.

I talked with a union member I know and was fussing because the union did not stop NAFTA and is not working to stop illegal immigration, so when he had a chance to talk with one of the big guys who came around, he just asked him why. The big guy said they spent money to stop it, but could not because the ones who wanted to employe them had more money. So, now what they were going to do is just unionize them. Whether that is true or not, about trying to stop it, I don't know. If we can't get rid of them - I hope they unionize every one of them.

Let's write immigration law to keep terrorists out. If you think that banning Mexican immigration will get us there, then I'll disagree.

I don't want to completely ban Mexican immigration; I want to limit it severely. If we don't place some controls on the number of Mexican (and other) immigrants, we'll swell to over a half a billion in population before long. Becoming the next India isn't an appealing idea to me.

Another problem is that our border with Mexico is so porous, many Islamists get through. My solution is to place the National Guard on the borders and at least do our best to keep them sealed off. Some Mexicans can still enter the country and become citizens through legal channels, but all illegal immigration must stop immediately. (But considering how much money our one-party Republicrats continue to make under the current system, I'm not counting on it).

Joe, get serious. Bitch and whine all you want (I prefer to wine) about judges. Fact is, CA judges are appointed by people who were elected by the people.

It always strikes me as funny the love for CA propositions, a system which is the result of the Hiram Johnson school of progressivism that lauded majority rule. All it's done is to exempt public officials from controversial legislation. It allows them to punt in Sacramento, forcing the citizens to act on their own. That's back-assed representative democracy. And people wonder why their representatives (and their judges) don't listen?

I hear here about how the people hate illegal immigration. If they'd just vote the bastards in who hate it, too, they'll get judges who hate it, too. Meanwhile, thank God for Trent Lott, who had the decency to sacrifice personal status for decent Court appointments. You ought to send him a thank you letter.

Don't cry for me, California. Got what you damned deserve. Thank Hirma Johnson, a first class bastard, if there ever was one.

You and Ficklin are both a couple of pathetic, white-hating, race-baiters.

I don't know about the 'white-hating', but I think what needs to be done with these folks who see RACISM in every thing in this country is just ignore them. First, repeat just how very stupid this is - then just ignore them and let them spew their hatred back and forth - sort of a ' Frick and Frack operation. You won't get anywhere talking sense to them. I think they have a set of talking points and need to get them in on each thread concerning this.

We should give them no time or debate as they will tend to take it as giving some credence to their nonsense.

Really, which California state judge, declared Propostion 187 to be illegal? Looking forward to your response.

I'm all for limiting Mexican immigration, especially with an eye towards security issues.

I'm saying that limiting it in the way we do doesn't work. At best, it works the best we can. Once you admit the fact that not even a National Guardsman every two feet can stop it (have you heard of Miami), you might take a more realistic view of these things.

We have enormous pressure on immigration. Just look at the price of labor here as compared to Mexico. The more we press, the higher the wages for illegals. The higher the wages for illegals, the more they come. Just like drugs. Without the WOD, coke would go for 2 bucks a gram. Same goes with illegals. If you look at it this way, you will understand that we are doing a good job with a bad situation.

You need to accept that the world is not perfect. Mexicans are not the cause of our problems.

My complatint is against weighted legal immigration for countries that have nothing to do with the U.S. and against those countries from whose people we would benefit. I said it before, the problem is not illegal immigration. Like the tax code, human behavior is not unnafected by law.

The Free Republic is the internet's premier "hate the mexicans" web site.

So that's it. We cannot discuss immigration with out "hating the Mexicans". Why can't you discuss an issue without calling those you disagree with names, i.e. "haters".
