NEW YORK (CNN) -- Former President Clinton said Wednesday it is "pretty hypocritical" of Republicans to criticize incoming Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott for stating publicly what he said the GOP does "on the back roads every day."
"How do they think they got a majority in the South anyway?" Clinton told CNN outside a business luncheon he was attending. "I think what they are really upset about is that he made public their strategy."
He added: "They try to suppress black voting, they ran on the Confederate flag in Georgia and South Carolina, and from top to bottom the Republicans supported it."
Clinton's comments were strongly refuted by a Republican spokesman, who called on the former president to "check his facts."
Lott, a Mississippi Republican, has been fighting for his political life since he suggested that the United States would have been better off had it elected Strom Thurmond president on a segregationist ticket in 1948. Lott has since repeatedly apologized.

Yeah--he's broken his silence and once agained proved what a despicable person he is. Hey, Blubber-Bill--what's that symbol on the AR state flag--for starters, and who just had a 7 foot statue erected to honor Sen Fullbright, one of the biggest racist in our history?

Where's Marc Racicot? Everytime Bill Clinton...or anyother lyingass Democrat spews this kind of crap, the republicans should hit the airwaves with a vengence, demand airtime, and plaster the same news cycle with indignant, irate denials. Haven't they learned this lesson yet?

Clinton is a effen lying piece of filth! While Perdue did speak of a referendum on the old Georgia flag, it was not the primary campaign issue, nor a deciding factor. The GOP kicked Dem ass throughout the Georgia elections, including Chambliss upsetting Cleland by a greater margin than Perdue beat Barnes, and the flag was not an issue at all in that Senate race. Perdue benefitted from the coattails of that race and an increasing trend towards the GOP by a progressive Georgia. Barnes lost some of his own constituency, including the teacher groups, who were pissed at him for blaming them for the education problems.

That confirms it: Clinton's a lurker on FR.

And the first real Black President will be a Republican.

Yeah Mr. Clinton, this is not all that different than your party's strategy of race baiting in the last 40 years. The fact is there are racists on the right and the left. It has always been hypocrisy for people on the left to cry racism and accuse the GOP of being involved in a "vast right-wing conspiracy" against minorities. The most racist conservative is no greater a racist than Jesse Jackson. Both will use the outmoded, idiotic, lunatic, idea of race to manipulate ignorant people to voting for their candidates.
To: Mo1
Nope. Didn't read the article all the way through. I want to keep my breakfast under my belt buckle. Besides, we all know that anything Clinton says is going to resemble the truth about the same way horseshit does roast beef.
