As mad as I am, I'm starting to think that the Dems are overplaying the nice hand Lott dealt them.

I definitely agree, I've noticed that Jack$on, $harpton and the rest of the gang have been backing off on Trent Lott (they have to - they have him well housebroken), and people are really getting sick of hearing about this. Then along comes Bill Clinton, who promptly tosses this little hand grenade and gets the whole thing going at full boil yet again. I just hope the Republicans use this to get a sack and finally stand up to the race-baiting!

I agree with you. As long as Carter built houses, wrote books, and occasionally observed elections in third world nations, he was tolerable. He's now crossing the line in foreign affairs and becoming "dangerously meddlesome."
