Clinton calls GOP 'hypocritical' on Lott

NEW YORK (CNN) -- Former President Clinton said Wednesday it is "pretty hypocritical" of Republicans to criticize incoming Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott for stating publicly what he said the GOP does "on the back roads every day."

"How do they think they got a majority in the South anyway?" Clinton told CNN outside a business luncheon he was attending. "I think what they are really upset about is that he made public their strategy."

He added: "They try to suppress black voting, they ran on the Confederate flag in Georgia and South Carolina, and from top to bottom the Republicans supported it."

Clinton's comments were strongly refuted by a Republican spokesman, who called on the former president to "check his facts."

Lott, a Mississippi Republican, has been fighting for his political life since he suggested that the United States would have been better off had it elected Strom Thurmond president on a segregationist ticket in 1948. Lott has since repeatedly apologized.

"Clinton is a effen lying piece of filth!"

Tell us how you really fell, don't hold back! (Just gently kidding, cause I agree with you.)

You know, Clinton is writing the book on how NOT to be a former President. Nixon dabbled in foreign affairs. Ford in public forums. Carter in building homes for the low-income, and being an all-around "statesman." Only Reagan's alzheimer's disease has prevented him from having a valuable post-Presidency. All are looked upon as "elder statesmen." Bill Clinton has turned his post-Presidency life into one of disgustingly hackish partisanship. He's the master of the lie and the cheapshot. Is it too late to try to impeach this guy again?

I should add, as I vomit up my dinner (thanks), that Bush's visits to Georgia were a VERY huge factor. And his platform was Homeland Security. In fact, all post-vote polling showed that Bush and the war on terror were the swing factor, not the flag. Georgians by and large are patriotic and like Bush, and wanted his party to assist him. This vermin Clinton is trying to further muddy the waters over this Lott mess.

Has anyone been arrested for trying to prevent minorities to vote? Has there ever been a lawsuit - successful or otherwise? He's such a joke I hardly know why we respond to his insane comments anymore (aside from the fun, of course).

Carter in building homes for the low-income, and being an all-around "statesman."

IMO, Carter's getting pretty close to "disgustingly hackish partisanship" as well, what with sucking up to Castro, accepting the Nobel Peace Prize even though it was awarded to him as a slap at GWB, trying to get involved with N. Korea so he can suck up to Kim Jong Il, etc.

I think we should be more worried about her than him; he is a never was has been. Hillary wants the Oval Office bad.

Yeah, someone in the GOP needs to publicly call him a liar once again and ask for proof, because there is none. They spent two years in Florida trying to actually dredge up an honest-to-goodness "disenfranchised" black voter, and came up empty. But facts don't matter to this slimebag.

I like that term "lyingass". Except I read it as "lyin Gass". Makes more sense that way, don't you think? Clinton is full of hot air.

Thanks, we need you. As mad as I am, I'm starting to think that the Dems are overplaying the nice hand Lott dealt them. Clinton's mug doesn't exactly rally the country around their party, soon most might see what they're up to and they'll see Bush still focusing on the real issues.

We need to point out that just because someone supports x42, we on the right side don't claim that all on the left support men abusing women subordinates. And we never will make that accusation.

Clinton should shut up. He said almost exactly the same thing that Lott said, except about Senator J. William Fulbright, also a segregationist.

No surprise here!

Clinton and Gore - both DEMOCRATS
Both of these men have a history of letting their filthy Alligator mouth overload their pitiful Hummingbird ass.

Worthless pieces of $hit that screwed off for eight years and accomplished NOTHING.. Now, feel compelled to criticize the man that has to clean up THEIR messes..

They ignored the real threats against America, and that emboldened the enemy..
They race baited, yet held a foot to the black man's neck to keep his children stupid and trapped in Ghetto Government "schools".

I can hardly wait for the opportunity to piss on their graves..

Yeah, I think the Dems have nothing but to try to bait the GOP into an all-out mudslinging war, and it is tempting to take the bait. However, it needs to be done with care by our reps, let Bush remain above the fray and focus on the big stuff, but send out our spokespeople to really go after these lying opportunists.

Fulbright was one of this tu#ds mentors. Besides, he was a lying draft dodger; later a lying womanizer and rapist. And these are the good things I have to say to this loser.
