President Bush and British Prime Minister Tony Blair have been warned Osama bin Laden has 20 suitcase nuclear weapons obtained for cash from former KGB agents, the London Sunday Express reports in tomorrow's editions.
Last October, WorldNetDaily broke the story of bin Ladens suitcase nukes, detailed in a new book by an FBI consultant on international terrorism.
The book,''Al Qaeda: Brotherhood of Terror,'' by Paul L. Williams, says bin Laden purchased 20 suitcase nuclear weapons in 1998 from former KGB agents for $30 million. The deal is reportedly one of three in the last decade in which al-Qaida purchased small nuclear weapons or weapons-grade nuclear uranium.
Williams says bin Laden's search for nuclear weapons began in 1988 when he hired a team of five nuclear scientists from Turkmenistan. These were former employees at the atomic reactor in Iraq before it was destroyed by Israel, Williams says. The team's project was the development of a nuclear reactor that could be used ''to transform a very small amount of material that could be placed in a package smaller than a backpack.''

Does anyone know if the London Sunday Express is a legitimate newspaper?

The London Sunday Express is like a supermarket tabloid. I don't think that I would call it a reliable source.

I just watched the movie "The Sum of All fears"

The story says that the devices yield a 1 kiloton blast. I suppose it could be worse. I'd think that if any of those devices were to be detonated, we'd respond with something a bit more powerful, as in megaton weapons...

HAHAHAHAHAHA! It is quite a tongue twister.

Soviet nukes used relatively impure weapons-grade fissionables by Western standards. It decayed fast due to the impurities and had to be removed and "recooked" every 8-10 years. The Soviets found it easier to do that than to cook the stuff right the first time.
I wouldn't worrry about xSoviet nukes. At this point they will likely just fizzle and cause an ungodly mess. The backpack types would likely not even do that.

What do you think?
Tabloid news of this sort is questionable and rarely credible.
You are not flying your flag and your screen name sounds like you may know more in your part of the world. What is your opinion is this a scare tactic or real? Or both?
To: Mossad1967
Ok, lemme get this straight. In other words, According to Bush, Blair warned Bush that he was warned of the Bin Laden nukes?
To: Mossad1967
The Express is a major London newspaper. Many big city newspapers are published in "tabloid format" so that they can be more easily read on the underground and on busses. Muslims do not buy it however as it is seen as a racist "Crusader" paper. Note its masthead. The Times and the Express are Tory, i.e. right of center papers.

Kind of reminds ya of "No time for Sergeants" when thy recruiter asks the forms to be filled out with "Last name first, first name, middle name last."
Of course Andy Griffiths character writes:
Stockdale Will Will [his Middle Name] Stockdale
To: Mossad1967
Did you take the title from an SAT test question? Ya know, where you detect the pattern and write what the next line should be?
The correct answer is:
a) Blair warned Bin Laden of Bush nukes
b) Bin Laden warned Bush
c) Bush warned Bin Laden of Blair
e) Blair warned Nuke Laloosh of Annie

Does anyone know if the London Sunday Express is a legitimate newspaper? The London Sunday Express is more legitimate than most U.S. newspapers

Ditto. I'd believe the Sunday Express before I'd believe the Washington Post. And tabloid is not a dirty word, folks. It's also a description. For instance, the NY Post is a tabloid, and the Washington Post is a broadsheet. Three guesses which of the two I think is more accurate...

It looks like a liberal media motive to take the focus off of "SADDAM".
