No doubt that attitude still exists among some. However, this is about Trent Lott. Do you believe he is a segregationist? Do you believe he is a racist? I do not. If we oust him as ML at this time it will be perceived that we believe he is a racist and this witch hunt will not end with Lott.

Nickles is a clear favorite.

Says who?

I will make this prediction and put ONE LARGE on it to anyone who wants to e-mail me privately:

Don Nickles will never be Senate Majority Leader. Or Minority Leader, for that matter.

If you think it's bad now, wait until after he tries to "redeem" himself on BET tomorrow night.

Quit ironic to see Larry Klayman suing over the sloppy handling of a case.

"Lott had 20 Senators on his side as of yesterday so all he needs is 6 more."

I said it before and I'll say it agian: Lott isn't going anywhere. Opportunistic political hacks and the hysteria mongering media are the ones dragging this out. He'll stay, all right. We lose one way if he stays, but worse if he goes.

Once again, you're confused. Nickles never has put himself up for leadership elections without knowing he had the votes. That's what I said and that's the truth.

But how much leverage does someone from Ok have? Don't they have like 3 electoral votes?

Yes, Lott's enemies have seized upon an opportunity. But, to quote an old friend of ours, he handed them a sword.

Well this gets to the issue of, when is an apology accepted, and when is it not enough? I certainly hope President Bush never has to apologize for anything, and expects to be supported. He is know to expect loyalty, but he hasn't shown any in this case whatsoever.

I did say Sunday morning. I missed it. However, the day is still young. Horseshoes?

Now, answer my question.

I'd sure like to hear Rickles put down Daschle -- on a daily basis.

Any chance he lives in Mississippi???

But in sinkspur's world, association is execution, which is a simpleton's thought process. It's not surprising that you would voice it.

I hope you have a very Merry Christmas, too.

Jello is the dessert of the day. And, you can choose between yellow or green.

I should have stayed off this thread. Perhaps that way you would have had more takers for your little wired bet. LOL.

"My vote has always been for Rick Santorum, though Nickles would do a fine job if elected."

Hear hear! I second the nomination of Rick Santorum for Senate majority leader if Lott's forced out (love that Real Life Project)

What was said on Fox was that the President said what he had to say the other day. He handed it back to the Senate to deal with. Nickles called the President and told him what he was going to say today just as a heads-up. The President has accepted the apology of Lott and has not asked him to step down. What some are missing here is that the President of the United States has a right to be angry that ONE senator has so mishandled this mess that he has put the entire agenda of the President at risk. Bush is a uniter, not a divider...it's not just a slogan. Lott didn't even think to do more than his phoned-in apologies until the President slammed him in public. I applaud this President for not allowing Lott to hide out and injure the Party.
