Terrorist foresaw crackdown

A Web site cited by a confessed participant asserts that an ''International Death Battalion'' carried out the Bali attack to kill Americans and their allies and avenge the deaths of Muslims. The bombings killed 191 people, about half of them Australians. Seven Americans died in the attack. [ ...excerpted... ]

The inflammatory Web site, www.istimata.com, was pointed out by Samudra after his arrest. It is unclear who wrote the material on the site, but it appears to take credit for the Bali attack.

The International Death Battalion's mission, it says, was ''to kill, fight and destroy America and its citizens along with other citizens from other countries who joined the infidel crusade'' in Afghanistan.

Bali was selected as the target, the Web site says, because it is a center for drugs, prostitution, and Jewish intelligence operatives. The Web site says Bali is ''the place where all the colonialists, terrorists, oppressors and destroyers of the respect for Indonesian Muslim women gather.''

The Web site blames the United States and its allies for the killing of Muslims in Afghanistan, the Middle East, and elsewhere: ''[President] Bush himself acknowledged that the so-called war of `Undefinite Justice' is a really a Crusade. ... Every blow will be repaid. Blood will be redeemed by blood. A life for a life.''

The Web site warns that more Westerners will be killed as long as American forces remain in Afghanistan and terror suspects are imprisoned at a US base in Guantanamo, Cuba. Muslims who cooperate with the Americans also will be killed, the site says.

So, is al-Qaeda faking their domain registration? -- probably -- perhaps they chose that address because the bank is named 'Crescent'. However, "requests to bank officials for comment were not returned".

Alb. ISP Hosts Terror Web Site Admitting Responsibility for Bali Bombing

A terrorist web site calling itself International Istimata Battalion contains a statement from its so-called commander that admits responsibility for the Bali bombing of October 12, in which almost 200 people were killed.

A portion of the site (at www.istimata.com/indexeng.htm) reads: "We are responsible for the incident in Legian St. Kuta,Bali at Saturday Night, October,12,02 also near U.S General Consulate building in Jalan Hayam Wuruk 188, Denpasar,Bali at the same night."

The writer continues by saying that "every single drop of Muslim blood" will be "remembered and accounted for," regardless of the nationality involved.

"The attack on the Islamic State of Afghanistan by the International Christian community and its allies ( Allied Force), under the Bush (may the Curse of Allah be upon him) leadership, will not be forgotten. Bush himself acknowledged that the so-called war of "Undefinite Justice" is a really a Crusade. Every blow will be repaid. Blood will be redeemed by blood. A life for a life."

The web site writer makes a number of demands:

"You will not feel safe from our attacks as long as the Jews and the Christians remain in Masjidil Haram, Masjidil Nabawi and Masjidil Aqsa.
"People from your countries will experience death, wherever they are, as long as the Allied Force ... do not leave Afghanistan.
"The civilians of your countries will receive the above treatment, as long as our brothers, who you classify as terrorists, remain as prisoners and are tortured in prisons, especially at Guantanamo.
"With special reference to Indonesian citizens working at BIN (National Intelligence Agency) under the armpits of CIA. If you are a Muslim, seek forgiveness from Allah. Find another job that does not contribute to the sufferings and cause harm to the Muslimin. If you persists in helping the American unbelievers, spy upon the Muslims and spread lies in the Muslim community, we will have no hesitation in treating you in the same manner as your kafir masters, the American colonials and world terrorist.

The self-confessed ringleader of the Bali bombers, Imam Samudra, recommends the web site for those interested in knowing his goals. And according to international media, Indonesia's police chief has linked last week's two blasts in the eastern Indonesian city of Makassar to the Bali bombings.

General Da'i Bachtiar said the suspects in the two cases knew each other and that investigators are looking at whether the Bali and Makassar bombings were "part of a single plan."

Imam Samudra, had warned of continuing attacks.

But perhaps just as interesting as the content contained on the site is the address listed by its registrant, the International Istimata Organization. The address of 251 Hwy 515 South Jasper, GA 30143 is also the same location as the Crescent Bank and Trust Company, whose web site is www.crescentbank.com. The bank may be reached at (706) 692-2424

Requests to bank officials for comment were not returned.

The site is hosted by Albuquerque, New Mexico based Networks! Inc who were initially made aware of the account because it had been paid for by a stolen credit card. Networks! officials then reported the site to the FBI who asked them to leave it up for monitoring.
