YSR. You know, that's the whole thing, when you say St.Louie1 was less-than-nice to you, this may sound cruel and heartless, but I'm left thinking "And . . . ?" We should be permitted to be a little rough-and-tumble here, I'm sure you'll agree. I do think you'll regret ever accusing him of being a bloodlustadversary on this issue as if it's an insult: I'm pretty sure I was close to throttling you on Ashcroft too.
By the way, you're TOTALLY WRONG ABOUT ASHCROFT! And no I won't give you reasons or debate it with you because you are SO WRONG!! There -- now go kick sand in my face and leave Louie alone! ;)
To: Mudboy Slim
You want my advice? Here it -- and no one's put me up to it. Billie just posted in FF: "Please cool it, Mud - this is NOT a political thread. You've been asked politely. Noone wants to get into that here. You know that." Howsabout not bothering to respond and going about your merry day? It's really not such a BIG THING if they don't want to have the Ashcroft mud wrestling in their thread. I think you worry about it too much?
Worry about ME instead. I think you're TOTALLY WRONG about Ashcroft and I refuse to discuss it in ANY thread! Come to think of it, why aren't you more upset with me?
To: Mudboy Slim
LOL -- you really are interesting because, I can see, you really ARE a libertarian. Some people just claim to be.
These FF rules are easier for me -- I'm "just" a Republican.
{{{Muddy}}} Remember, I'll buy you LOTS of tequilla at CPAC and we can there have a big fight in person on why you are TOTALLY WRONG on Ashcroft, OK?

Running a band is a major pain in the arse. But, someone's got to do it. I just always preferred to be the lead dog and put up with the egos, whining, logistics, agents, club owners, and everything else that comes with the territory. In Cosmic Box, Ross and I run it as partners. We both have the same vision as to what we want to get out of it. Makes life a bit easier when sharing the duties!
My condolences to the BigMan and his Vedder worship, there's no accountin' fer taste!
As much as I love rock and roll(I have made music my life), I never went for the bs of "we can change the world with a song".
At best, you can entertain the world with a song. If you're lucky.
I find it supremely arrogant to think that some chord changes and some inane lyrics are going to influence world events or change people's minds about anything. When I got this square in my own head, my life got a whole lot better.
Look at the knuckleheads in Rage Against The Machine. Did Zack de la Rocha make anyone a communist? Hardly. But some of their songs rock. You gotta take it for what it is, music.
Musicians who spout their bs are no better than the Hollyweird freaks whos spout theirs.
Sorry about the rant, dude, it was my birthday yesterday and age is the enemy of rock and roll!LOL

That is completely true. There's no doubt of that. I don't understand. It may well be that so many people so fervently disagree with you that they just won't hear of it. That may be. I'm not sure if it's a pecking order thing -- it could just as likely be violent disagreement.
I know that you think that might be silly and that if people disagree violently, they should just have it out. But this issue is so hot-button -- I mean I know lots of people here who really REALLY like Ashcroft, including me -- that it could destroy the FF Thread for a couple of days to have it out. I know you'll say: fine, I'm all for some vigorous debate. :::shrugging::: Billie's ruled otherwise. I'm not saying if it's right or wrong, but it is her thread, and you do have this space here to fight it out. And she was nice about it.
But I totally agree with you -- political thoughts all the time are there. That's true. I don't dispute it. I'd just honor the request, as you say you will, even if you disagree with it. Remember, there's still so much that unites us.
Oh, and you're TOTALLY WRONG about Ashcroft! LOL.

Mud oughtta FReep "Jailhouse Rock". I'm sure he could keep us in stitches with that one.LOL
To: FreeTheHostages
"this issue is so hot-button" Why?! Ashcroft's Just a Cabinet Member and it's OBVIOUS he doesn't have the stomach fer the job...let's give him some other "important" Role in Dubyuh's Administration, but we need him out of the Department of Justice ASAP!!!
Rudy Guiliani would make a wonderful replacement, IMHO...MUD

I think it's a hot button issue because Ashcroft is a known and beloved conservative -- he had one of the most conservative voting records when he was in the Senate -- who has been unfailing vigorous on the war on terror.
So one decision on Winnick -- well, it makes you think they know something we don't which makes it hard to prove in court. It makes you want to give a guy who has had YEARS of FLAWLESS conservative service on behalf of the country the benefit of the doubt. It makes you secretly furious at FRiends so willing to betray him on one issue. Hence "hot button," you Disloyal Fool. Ooops, sorry, that was a typo. :D

Yes it do.
Anyone who complains about earning a fine living making music is a complete DOLT!IMHO.....ya hear that Eddie?
