Clarence Thomas and Antonin Scalia are both great guys and seeing either one of them on the Chief Justice's bench would make my day.

Clarence Thomas as Chief Justice? Yes, yes, and a thousand times yes! He's understated, analytical but practical, precise, careful, and would make a great Chief Justice!

Bush, however, has been told that Justice Thomas isn't keen on going through the meat grinder again.Well, I think Clarence Thomas should go for it anyhow. He would make a fine Chief Justice. Screw the meat grinder. The 'Rats already took their best shot and with the Republicans in control, it will be a relative shoo-in. Let the 'Rats lose more support with the black voters by trying to smear Thomas once again.

I love Justice Thomas, but IMO, Scalia is THE MAN for the job.

All Conservatives please note: The correct title is "Chief Justice of the United States," not "Chief Justice of the Supreme Court." It would be nice if the right side in the forthcoming bloodbath would get that consistently correct.

It will be interesting to hear what Joe Biden and Ted Kennedy have to say about a Thomas nomination.

That was BEFORE Clinton. It may be more difficult this time to use the sexual harassment argument.

I don't think Hillary could do that - at least not lawfully - because x42 has already been denied the privilege of practicing before the Supreme Court. If he cannot practice there, I wouldn't suppose he could head the court - but then we are talking about the Liar in Chief - so I guess anything goes!

Black conservative pingIf you want on (or off) of my black conservative ping list, please let me know via FREEPmail. (And no, you don't have to be black to be on the list!)
Extra warning: this is a high-volume ping list.

Oh, I hope he goes for Thomas. Nina Totenberg and Harry Belafonte would have nuclear hissy-fits, the Dems would end up looking like the hypocrites they are when it comes to sexual harrassment, and with Powell, Rice, and Thomas occupying three of the most powerful offices in the world, black voters will finally start asking pointed questions about who is doing the talking and who is doing the achievement.
This means that Clarence Thomas will have to stand tall in the face of incredible vilification, in the same proud tradition as Frederick Douglass, Booker T. Washington, and yes, Martin Luther King. He's got the stuff. Bush should do it.

This would be great! HA! The fema-nazis will go crazy.
They love a rapist but when Clarence mentions a porn star, they go mental!
The dude has been whipped by the left more than Jesus. He needs his due.
Hillary would tout Ginsberg... one hag to another.
Thomas, like Scalia, think and toss aside emotion. They are an anathema to the socialists.

FINALLY!! Bush "eyes" the exact appointment I had in mind.
Go for Thomas, Mr. President. Scalia's a great justice, but he's in his 60s. Thomas, on the other hand, is the only baby boomer on the court yet he's already had over a decade of solid experience on the S.C.-- the 'RATs can't claim he'd be a novice this time around.
Chief Justice Thomas could probably serve 20+ years, and give the liberals a heartache as they realize an intelligence black conservative has become the first "minority" to head one of three branches of government.

OMG, what a dilemma, how do you choose between them? This is a no lose choice for the people.

Selecting Thomas would be brilliant. I love Scalia, but he is too old. Any time that Nina Totenburg and her cronies bring up anything about Sexual Harrassment, all the Pubbies have to do is yell "Clinton-Clinton-Clinton!" and publish some of the statements that they made in support of the Rapist in Chief.

Thomas or Scalia..... Thomas or Scalia....Thomas or Scalia.... tough decision.. but a win either way.. I would lean towards Scalia myself.. but Clarance Thomas would make a superb Cheief Justice as well... Tough choice Mr. President... My family will be in prayer for you.

Who is that fat, black female pig that they drag out on some of the talk shows to be the token ultra-left winger? The one that said she hoped Thomas' wife would cook fatty foods for him so he'd have a heart attack? She defended Willie's filth and corruption no matter what the facts. Unfortunately, we'd never get them to release any of the news tapes (probably some technical reason) but I love to see her defend Willie again using the "it was only about sex" argument while atacking Thomas, alleging the same thing. Yep, fat black leftist sow!!
