I don't know what and where we are bombing or how long ago but it's certainly in the Mid-East region and they're the shit bombed out of them. Warning: kinda graphic.

I'd bet anything that these guys were senior Taliban or al-Qaeda.The officer in charge sounds as if he's saying "don't let him escape" (at around 5:30) in respect to the fellow running away below. Is that SOP for foot soldiers?

Gulf War I resulted in huge numbers of capitulating Iraqi soldiers, what do you think the temperment of Iraqis will be this time ?
I think the mood of the average Iraqi citizen is such that they collectively long for Saddam's demise, even if it's at the hands of invading forces.
Iraq was one of the most westernized moose limb states in the middle east, prior to the Iran-Iraq conflict. I suspect that by having a taste of what the 20th/21st century was like, leaving the stone age isn't such a bad idea. More importantly, I'm sure the immediate wishes of most Iraqis is to learn of Saddam's death. I don't think it can happen quick enough for them (or us).
They have to be concerned with the potential misfortune that exists (in all wars) of being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
I wonder what's the likelyhood of a coup taking place once the doo doo hits the proverbial fan ?

I'd bet anything that these guys were senior Taliban or al-Qaeda.Good bet! I did a search on Google for "gunship afghanistan video mosque" and found this newsgroup posting of an AP story (I've edited out the irrelevant parts):
One airstrike originated last November when intelligence units in the United States and Afghanistan heard reports of an impending meeting of Taliban and al-Qaida leaders near Kandahar's airfield. To check out the reports, U.S. forces dispatched a Predator unmanned aerial vehicle, a surveillance drone the size of a small private plane. At the same time, a modified Boeing 707 airliner called an E-8 Joint STARS, cruised into the area, its radars scanning the ground for vehicle convoys. It found one. The column of vehicles was heading toward the airfield. The Predator's remote controller trained the craft's video camera to track it.
In the Air Force's account of the strike on the meeting, officials said reconnaissance also noted a mosque near the expected meeting site, which was highlighted to pilots as a target to avoid. Commanders sent an AC-130 gunship to attack the meeting site. The AC-130 is a loud, slow, propeller-driven variant of a cargo plane that is bristling with guns and able to deliver devastating fire to ground targets.
Over the next several hours, the Predator observed the meeting place as the AC-130 approached. Once it arrived, the Predator, which can transmit video directly to the AC-130, directed the gunship to attack trucks, people and buildings at the meeting site. After the strike, the mosque stood undamaged.

Right on, this has got to be the story. I can't imagine the fear that you would have being caught in an AC-130 raid.

Well, my mac cannot download the video :-( Rats!

Well a quick run down is basicly this:
Its FLIR camera video in real time and the AC130 hits , individuals, vehicles and structures with such accuracy and you see the Islamakazis running from the explosions etc..........and the crew actually goes after individuals and their vehicles and then hits a building while avoiding hitting a Mosque which some of the terrorists actually get into before the AC130 can get em.
Lots of secondary explosions etc on the vehicles indicating explosives on em.
Worth looking up a windows owner to view IMHO.......
Stay safe !!

To: Squantos
Thanks for the ping.
I hope that our psychop guys drop a couple hundred thousand videos of this all over Iraq with one simple and clear message.
This will be your fate if you don't kill Saddam before we kill you!
Kill Saddam! The life you save will be yours!

Great job!
There are enough Iraqis who survived Desert Storm I by luck and surrendering. They know what we did to them in DSI, and they know that what will be coming to them in DSII makes DSI look like a scrimmage game.
They know that GW has allowed our military to identify targets and killing zones. In each killing zone/square, the killing like in this video will be brutal, accurate and very deadly.
The men in Iraq have one chance to stay alive and stay on this earth in one piece. That one chance is to "Kill Uncle Saddam!".
They can choose life or death. Their best choice is the quick death of Uncle Saddam for their lives!

I don't even know WHAT to type after seeing THAT video!!!!! The only thing that would have REALLY added anything, was the song that came into my head at about the 5 minute mark....
....the old Motown song"Nowhere to Run,Nowhere to Hide" playing in the background just loud enough that you could still focus on what the guys were saying...
Wonderful post!!!I sure would like to think that at least a couple of dollars (of the almost 12G in federal income tax that my wife and I paid in 2001)helped those guys to be "All that they can be", by making sure they have the best equipment that we can give them to do their "job",..............(instead of feeling at times like almost ALL of our taxes that we paid are getting thanklessly thrown down some federal assistance welfare hole....) Thanks again!!!
