Did you see voter fraud and what is the talk about exit polling and the possible outcome?

Losing the 5th CD is worse than losing the senate race.

Winning would have been a nice plus, but we didn't lose anything. Dems always have that state. It was one heck of a great try, though. We did good!

. How can a state that shows a 73% approval rating of President Bush go for Landrieu.

Because that state is Louisiana and Louisiana is in its own little world.

The only unsettling aspect besides losing is that Landrieu only won by 5K votes 6 years ago when Clinton handily carried the state.

Methinks that our gal was simply not a strong candidate and the Dem machine got their act together by late afternoon in hustling votes.

"Watch out for Lincoln Chafee, McCain and Snowe. They may just give Daschle what he is looking for."

Never underestimate the power of Karl Rove. Nuff said.

You are RIGHT!!!

If only men were allowed to vote in 2000, Bush would have won ALL BUT 6 STATES!!

Bush would have even won Kalifornia!!!!

Your comment is so ignorant, I don't know where to begin. First of all, the announcement of 6% unemployment needed to be addressed. Second of all, this announcement meant zilch to those who were going to the polls.

Don't call him ignorant. My Terrell consultant friends tell me their polls dropped all day Friday after the O'Neill news. Bush's numbers on the economy fell more than 15 POINTS in LA. It totally magnified the unemployment number.

Looks like you are far more ignorant.

Well, sad to say Terrell looks like a loser. Bad timing by the White House and that Sugar thing killed Suzie. Still and all, at least there's one good thing about today....

The 'Canes are in the Fiesta Bowl!

As to your para 1, couldn't agree with you more. (Guess Mr. Rove was asleep at the wheel, or something.)

As to your para 2, Go, Buckeyes!

Why is this an embarassment? This is a democrat incumbent in a traditionally democrat state. Our candidate ran well, but was done in at the end by the sugar deal and perhaps the economic shake-up.

It takes none of the gloss off for me. We are not going to win all elections. We gave it a good shot, and I appreciate the President making the effort.

If he hadn't campaigned, then the loss would have been blamed on his not campaigning. He took a chance, won some in November, lost this one tonight.

You gloomy pepople are so depressing!

Oh well ... 51 Senators ain't that bad. But we could have made it 53! This just goes to show that Republicans all too easily forget that money or the bully pulpit don't matter as much as votes.

The GOP needs to start an operation to grow our share of the minority vote PRONTO! All we need do is peel off 10% of the black vote around the country from the Democrats to actually become the majority party.

Anyway, Democrats would be gloating all the way to the news studios tomorrow. They won the last two races of the season ... AFTER they picked Pelosi to be their leader. This is REALLY annoying!

She was weak -- 27 percent in the primary. That was a lot of ground to make up. I guess she did the best she could, but in close races we can always see the "road not taken." I bet she got far less than 10 percent of the black vote, but there may be no statistics on that. A strong Republican candidate might have defeated Landrieu, but it should have been waged on Nov. 5. The multiple candidate approach ultimately failed. The Whigs tried that multiple-candidate approach in 1836. Thereafter, no political party ever again tried such a strategy.

It'll be sweet when Daschle doesn't give Landrieu her old assignments back.

Then all the Dems in Louisiana will go, "...but you told us.."

Louisianians are dumb. I'm one and I'm smart enough to see that the average Louisiana is on average a moron.
