Tell us how crowded/not crowded it was when you went to vote!

Did you see voter fraud and what is the talk about exit polling and the possible outcome?

You're right. This is a loss, but a minor one. It happens. :-)

It's not looking too good unless our gal does better than expected in remaining Jefferson and New Orlean parishes....which would buck the statewide trend of Landrieu gaining votes over the 11-05-02 election.

Jefferson will go heavily Pubbie but I doubt enough to offset remaining New Orleans proper votes and the 13K edge Landrieu already has.

Still not too shabby. A stronger Pubbie could have prevailed handily in a diehard Dem state(the only left in the old CSA with more registered Dems than Pubbies). That says something. The worm is definitely turning and the old Long machine remnants are getting rusty.

From what I've gleaned so far, the large rural black vote turnout is what has handed Landrieu her edge.....that and more Pubbie apathy than I would have liked to have seen....along with the infighting.

Yep + Sugar thing.... Hmm.. I think Cheap MExican Sugar sounds good to me....

The logic of voting rat because of the sugar thing escapes me. Seems like a Republican would have more influence on the Bush White House.

Anyway, I called this thing. Terrell was a WEAK candidate. Weak. She was riding on Bush's coattails, and the coattails turned to mud yesterday with the economic news.

Oh God, I just got in. This is so depressing. How can a state that shows a 73% approval rating of President Bush go for Landrieu.

God is punishing the GOP for choosing an Arab over a man (Cooksey) who decried those with a "diaper and fan belt on their head".

Rest of New Orleans looks like it just came in. Landrieu wins 52-48 with 99% reporting.

70, 454 Terrell, 55, 858 Landrieu..... still 200 precincts not reporting in Orleans Parish.

Actually, I think the mistake that the Republicans made was in going for the run-off.

I agree. Unfortunately, that was the Senatorial Committee's plan for the last two years.

I dunno. David Duke lived in Metairie. I don't know the demographics. There are alot of yuppie two income families there but most have conservative outlook. I don't think Terrell can pull it off. But you know, she ran an incredible race for a newcomer against an opponent with charm and political machine and incumbency. I think to blame anything may be pointless. Louisiana is just in the dem column. But hey, don't let that imported sugar in. What La needs is a black republican movement and a leader of such. And that is not a racist comment. A black conservative would have incredible appeal here, especially if he was a catholic who went to LSU and maybe played football and was a good cook.

Lousiana is the only Southern state that has more registered Democrats than Republicans. Having said that, I think there are enough RINOs in the Senate that Daschle may get a last laugh. Watch out for Lincoln Chafee, McCain and Snowe. They may just give Daschle what he is looking for.

Never mind rats are baby-killing, gun grabbing, sodomite lovers.

The Founders were no dummies for restricting the vote to free, land-owning, male citizens. (I did not say "white" on purpose, because free, land-owning, black males had the vote, too -- few though they may have been.) Ils en avaient raison. If only men could vote, does anyone think Clinton would ever have been President?

Okay, so flame me.

They don't need to pay attention to detail or to know who Paul O'Neill or Larry Lindsey were or what posts they held. All they heard last nite from the White House was that the Bush economic policy was NOT WORKING and the President fired his two top economic advisers. The night before the election where the victor had wisely campaigned for weeks on economic issues!

Good point, this is the first House race since Mrs. Pelosi was chosen minority leader. She is not the albatross to Democrats that some of us Republicans have been claiming.

If you think Pelosi had anything to do with this race, you're logic-impaired.

90% of voters in LA have never heard of Pelosi; the other 10% think it's some kind of pelican.
