"New Terror Threat (to American children) in Indonesia"
The Al Qaeda-linked network that carried out the October 12 nightclub bombings on Indonesia's resort island of Bali is planning to strike international schools in Jakarta, Indonesia, The New York Times reported on Monday, citing Western and Indonesian officials.
The plan to attack Western students at the schools was uncovered in the last few days, and officials said the schools would be closed until at least Wednesday, the Times said in its online edition.
Officials declined to say precisely how they had learned of the plot, but the United States and Australia have stepped up intelligence gathering in Indonesia since the Bali attack, which killed more than 180 people, including many Australians, the newspaper said.
Based on information from Western intelligence agencies, diplomats said the planned attack was directed primarily at the Jakarta International School, (http://www.jisedu.org/) which has 2,500 students, about a third of whom are Americans, the paper said.
Diplomats told the Times the Australian and British schools also plan to close, the report said.
They are to remain closed until Indonesian police provide adequate security, one diplomat told the newspaper.
The plotters are thought to be a cell within the Al Qaeda network of Muslim extremists that has carried out several terrorist actions in Indonesia, and nearly succeeded in blowing up the American, Australian, British and Israeli embassies in Singapore last December, officials told the newspaper.
And the US politicians that support them need to be voted out,too!

That hits the nail right on the head. I know many will disagree, but I don't think it even has all that much to do with Islam. We saw this mentality in imperial Japan, Nazi Germany, and by communist tyrants all over the world. Osama, Arafat and the other terrorists may talk Islam, but, oddly enough, they are only interested in Islamic ideas that put them and their friends in charge of a dictatorship.
Exactly what I was saying last week. I don't know that either of our governments would DO it, but I do think it's one response al-Qaeda would understand.
If we allow our hearts to be filled with such hate, have they not already won?
I am not a peace at any cost individual. The actions of these extermists have filled me with anquish and anger. But I refuse to have hate rule my life. Those who would kill us have to be stopped by whatever measures are needed. But let's not sacrifice our soul. Consider what your suggesting...every Muslim.

I think this is less a failure of the grassroots as it is a benign neglect by the major media.
Lot of stories on Jerry Falwell, Pat Robertson and Franklin Graham abusing the poor little Muslim religion, but nary a word on the atrocities such as the school murders in Pakistan. Naturally, nothing has been mentioned yet about this latest outrage in Jakarta, and probably not much will be.
The Liberal press reports only what they want the sheeple to hear. Reporting something like this would interfere with their hate America first agenda.
Also called hitlery's and had to actually leave my message with her receptionist-so I did. I spoke of her horrid wars about not finding bin laden equated to a failing war on terror effort and to her horrendous, dispicable, unstatesmanlike, meant to increase distrust in our President when great trust is needed act of holding up a newspaper with the words'BUSH KNEW' after the SEPT 11 attack (on our senate floor). I got it all out-wonder if it will make it to her heinous's ears or eyes-doubt it.

Except that Bin Laden et al started their war when Clinton was president (who was not particularly active against them). Except that they don't care who is president so long as they can kill him. Except that what they are about has nothing to do with any American policy so long as the American polity and that Israel and the (post) Christian West is destroyed.
I have a friend that has similar views. Whenever he complains about the American government and the job Bush is doing I tell him to move out of the country. His reply?
"Living in another country having to deal with American foreign policy is even worse"
