He may have lost his post as Senate Majority Leader and cost his fellow Democrats control of the Senate, but at least one advisor to soon-to-be Senate Minority Leader Tom Daschle is calling last week's Democrat election debacle a victory.
"They [Bush and Daschle] went head to head for all intents and purposes, and Daschle won," the top Senate Dem's unnamed aide told the Washington Post Sunday.
He was referring to the South Dakota Senate race, which was widely billed as a contest between surrogates for Bush and Daschle.
Last week Republican candidate John Thune inexplicably conceded defeat to Democrat Tim Johnson without demanding a recount, even though the final tally showed Thune just 500 votes down in a contest swirling with allegations of Democratic Party vote fraud.
As usual, the Donkey Party has mistaken Thune's political graciousness for weakness, and is now calling the possibly stolen election was a significant win.

--the Repulidums need to recall the advice of former Sen. Alan Simpson,--"politics is a contact sport"--and that of Ray Croc--"when the competition is drowning, stick a garden hose in his mouth"--

Let's pretend that everything was legal and no dead Indians voted. Let's congratulate Tommy. One state out of 50 is nothing to crow about. Especially his home state.

I'm looking forward to many more such "victories" from the DNC.

Kind of reminds me of the Emperor of Japan's surrender message at the end of WW-II. After two atomic bombs, the destruction of the Japanese fleet, the defeat of her armies and her cities bombed to rubble the Emperor told the people "...the war has not been going in Japan's best interest."

He'll be out of the Senate in 2005 either by retirement or being beaten by Thune. That's why Thune didn't fight this.
Johnson will be taken out in 2006 by any number of statewide-elected Republicans SD.
As long as we keep the Senate, both of their days are numbered.

"They [Bush and Daschle] went head to head for all intents and purposes, and Daschle won," the top Senate Dem's unnamed aide told the Washington Post Sunday. And next week tiny Tom will declare losing seats in the House and Senate was the first step in winning the Presidency in 2004

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just when I thought I read it all regarding how desparate the democRats are they go and say something even more ludicrous.
They are so left they worship Hitler and they are lost without leadership.
Da$$hole lost, Gore lost, the DNC lost. Everyone knows it but the small percentage of the leftist democrats that have hijacked the DNC permanently.

This aide should mosey on over to DUmmyland and repeat the "we won" sentiment.
He may need to go to the hospital after they stone him.

Sounds like this unnamed advisor borrowed a little peyote from his buddies on the reservation.

Poor Puff Daschle. He's delusional now. The little weasel may try to spin the election into a dummycrat "victory", but the facts speak for themselves. I wish the democrats many more "victories" like Nov 5.

"As usual, the Donkey Party has mistaken Thune's political graciousness for weakness, and is now calling the possibly stolen election was a significant win." I hope this whole stolen election business in South Dakota turns out like the story of Joseph in the Bible:
What the liberal DomonCraps intended for evil turns out for the good.
I'm not sure if South Dakotans will take to being looked at the same way as New Jersey-ites (New Jersians?).
It would be really nice if Bush and company or the Justice Department have something up their sleeve to uncover this major fraud that took place against the good people of South Dakota.
They deserve better representation than this: Johnson & Dasshole.

Republican candidate John Thune inexplicably conceded
That says it all. In future, I am going to demand of any one I support in an election to swear to contest fraud with all the means at their disposal.
My fellow freepers tell me that we haven't seen the last of the Thune/Johnson election. I pray they are correct. However, in his public utterances, Thune behaved abominably. If he is to be mentioned for Public Office, I will not support him and will work against his nomination for any post, elected or appointed.

Johnson will be taken out in 2006 by any number of statewide-elected Republicans SD. Johnson's new term won't expire 2009.
