Republicans are planning to endanger women's lives and attack their right to choose as soon as they take control of the Senate, according to Mississippi Senator Trent Lott, who will be the new Majority Leader. Speaking on a right-wing radio show, Lott announced that criminalizing certain life-saving medical procedures used in abortions was his top legislative priority, saying, "I will call it up, we will pass it, and the president will sign it. I'm making that commitment -- you can write it down."
The criminalization of so-called "partial-birth abortions" is just the tip of the iceberg for the Republicans, as right-wing, anti-choice activists plan to push a full agenda of legislation designed to restrict a woman's right to choose.
In addition to the ban on this medical procedure, the GOP's anti-choice legislative agenda includes a review of the FDA's approval of RU-486, "fetus protection" legislation that restricts the rights of pregnant women, enacting restrictions making it more difficult for minors to have access to pregnancy services, removing a bankruptcy provision that would prohibit convicted violent anti-choice offenders from protecting their assets, and granting special rights for hospitals that refuse to perform abortions.
Hoping to chip away at a woman's right to choose slowly in order to eventually pass a Constitutional amendment banning abortion, and eager to grant lifetime appointments to as many anti-choice judges as possible, Republicans and anti-choice activists have been pushing these restrictions for years. With control of the White House, the House of Representatives, and soon, the Senate, Republicans hope to pass this agenda dictated by right-wing activists. [Washington Post; 11/12/02]
NO MORE LIES, HATRED, CORRUPTION AND EMBARRASMENT!!!
LOOK AT THE DIFFERENCE IN THE TWO PARTIES AND IT IS A NO-BRAINER AS TO WHY THE DNC LOST!
THE DIFFERENCE IS APPARENT...THE RNC HAS CLASS AND MORALS AND AN AGENDA THE MAJORITY OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE WANT. THE DNC ARE A BUNCH OF CHILDISH, WHINY LOSERS, THAT DO NOTHING BUT BASH OTHERS ON THEIR WEB PAGE!
Yes it does, she can choose to keep the child or give it up for adoption.
The problem is that THE BABY'S right to chose does not exist. The Murdering Left would flush the little inconvenience away before it has a chance to claim it's rights.
by DONATING money, of course!
So send them a cheque for 2 cents and demand a reciept by mail. It's a net financial loss to them. If enough of us do it, we could bankrupt them
EXCELLENT!!! ...
There was a time in this country when character counted and taking responsibility was the right and honorable thing to do.
There was a time in this country when RESPECT for one's self and others meant something
This is something that the Dems have no clue about and Clinton is a prime example of that
And yes I like Ann myself, however in this case I agree .. she is wrong
NOW have been debating whether to oppose this very concept, but still haven't decided :)
Survey Says Popularity of Bush's Positions Won Elections

Capitol Hill (CNSNews.com) - Democrat pundits quickly assigned blame for their party's losses in the November elections to President Bush's popularity as a "wartime president." However, a survey released Monday claims it was candidates' conservative positions on national domestic issues that won voters, not Bush's popularity.
The day after the elections, which returned the Senate to Republicans and solidified their control of the House, Democratic National Committee Chairman Terry McAuliffe said Republicans' edge over his party was a "tactical rather than ideological" one.
"Ultimately, many of our candidates couldn't overcome the political muscle that carried many Republicans over the finish line. They had a wartime president with the highest sustained approval ratings in history, who made these elections his number one domestic priority," McAuliffe claimed.
"[These] results certainly don't reflect an ideological tip in favor of the Republicans," he added.
Not so, according to a new survey released Monday by the United Seniors Association (USA). The poll queried 1,000 registered voters who cast ballots in the Nov. 5 elections.
"It appears, mysteriously, that liberals look at the electorate as if every area of the country was like Rep. Barney Frank's (D-Mass.) district or Rep. Nancy Pelosi's (D-Calif.) district," Charles Jarvis, USA chairman and CEO, said referring to the two lawmakers from well-recognized liberal congressional districts. "That is a massive error in judgment."
The survey, conducted Nov. 6 and 7 by The Winston Group, seems to support Jarvis' contention that Democrats' liberal agenda hurt them at the polls. Results of the survey indicate that:
Based on the survey results, voters over age 65 supported Republican candidates by a margin of 56-43. Voters between the ages of 55-64 also supported more Republicans, but by a smaller margin of 48-44.
"Seniors today know clearly, by large percentages, that tax cuts spur the economy, bureaucracies suppress economic growth; that market-based solutions actually solve problems, bureaucratic solutions actually make them worse very often," Jarvis argued.
"The USA post election survey proves that the American voters objection to [the Democrats' agenda] laid the groundwork for the Republicans' historic Election Day success," he said.
