Official DNC Webpage:GOP Leadership Puts Anti-Choice Measures at the Top of Agenda

Republicans are planning to endanger women's lives and attack their right to choose as soon as they take control of the Senate, according to Mississippi Senator Trent Lott, who will be the new Majority Leader. Speaking on a right-wing radio show, Lott announced that criminalizing certain life-saving medical procedures used in abortions was his top legislative priority, saying, "I will call it up, we will pass it, and the president will sign it. I'm making that commitment -- you can write it down."

The criminalization of so-called "partial-birth abortions" is just the tip of the iceberg for the Republicans, as right-wing, anti-choice activists plan to push a full agenda of legislation designed to restrict a woman's right to choose.

In addition to the ban on this medical procedure, the GOP's anti-choice legislative agenda includes a review of the FDA's approval of RU-486, "fetus protection" legislation that restricts the rights of pregnant women, enacting restrictions making it more difficult for minors to have access to pregnancy services, removing a bankruptcy provision that would prohibit convicted violent anti-choice offenders from protecting their assets, and granting special rights for hospitals that refuse to perform abortions.

Hoping to chip away at a woman's right to choose slowly in order to eventually pass a Constitutional amendment banning abortion, and eager to grant lifetime appointments to as many anti-choice judges as possible, Republicans and anti-choice activists have been pushing these restrictions for years. With control of the White House, the House of Representatives, and soon, the Senate, Republicans hope to pass this agenda dictated by right-wing activists. [Washington Post; 11/12/02]

If you want a certain 'endangerment to women's lives' just
support abortion because that's what it is. It endangers her by increasing the likelihood of breast cancer, as well as her psychiatric health. The 'libs' won't tell you that but they can NOT deny it. The GOP is trying to improve
women's health by making this destructive procedure less available. Thank God for W.

Oh. So the Democrats are proudly saying they are in favour of this:

The Partial Birth Abortion Procedure

Guided by ultrasound, the abortionist grabs the baby's leg with forceps.

The baby's leg is pulled out into the birth canal.

The abortionist delivers the baby's entire body, except for the head.

The abortionist jams scissors into the baby's skull. The scissors are then opened to enlarge the hole...

The scissors are removed and a suction catheter is inserted. The child's brains are sucked out, causing the skull to collapse. The dead baby is then removed.

The Democrats are going straight to Hell. God will not be mocked in such a fashion.

Regards, Ivan

>>attack their right to choose<<

I think every single woman should have, and does already have, the right to choose pregnancy or non-pregnancy. I also think that every married woman, together with her husband, should have and does have this right.

I am therefore strongly pro-choice.

I just insist that those who have this right exercise it prior to the point that homicide is required to effect that right.

In fact, every time I re-read how partial birth abortions are done, I get the urge to punch anyone who dare defend it right in the face, so hard that they cry. It'd be small retribution for the thousands, if not millions who have been slaughtered.

Yes, and they have the 'right to choose' to not spread their legs and engage in sexual intercourse, prior to murder.

Abortion is a matter for the states

Right you are, William. How anyone can read the 10th Amendment & then agree with Roe v. Wade is beyond me.

First priority: Overturn Roe.

Second priority: Wage the pro-life battle in 50 state capitals.
