His story sounds like that of a friend of mine's 10-year old nephew who went to a gun show with his dad, came back and said, "There were a bunch of black gang-bangers buying Uzi's!"

You know, in all my years of gunshows, I never saw bombs for sale... Perhaps it is my memory?

Bombs at gun shows?! Damn, the secret is out. Now I will have to really hide those 5,000 pounders I bought last year. Took 18 pickup truck trips to the get the darn things home. Not to mention the crane I had to hire out to come load and off load them, and the highway patrol had to escort us down the highway because of the large loads (I told them they were Dinosaur eggs!) Heck. Secret is out.

I might also point out that the branches of the service and the Defense Deparment admit that there is a documented problem with theft of grenades, flash suppressors, guns, ammo, explosives, rocket launchers, large ammo clips and other ordnance from installations. While some of this stolen equipt is sold or traded on the street, some of it also finds its way into gun shows where it is sold or traded, sometimes by the military personnel who stole it.

Citations please, Pinetop. Put up, or shut up.

Pinetop is full of crap. Any selling any illegal items at gun shows are immediately set upon. If not by Feds, by locals or the other dealers. It simply doesn't happen.

I think the liberals are afraid the American people might just take the law into their own hands should the situation arise.

Last gun show i went to (2 weeks ago) was mostly middle aged white guys, and they were selling ol granny guns, hunting rifles, beat up enfields and garands for way too much money, no middle easterners anywhere to be seen.

Uh, actually, the military has been denying that such items have been missing, even when recovered stolen government property is tracked back through unit property books to the receiving unit. Sometimes it's simply the usual cases of CYA and property officers trying to salvage their careers, but sometimes, it extends MUCH higher into other spooky things...including presidential assassination.

*citation and example *here*.

Enfields? Garands! Sounds marvelous! Of Course they're too much, you just have to find the one that's worth it, the gem among the pebbles, the needle in the haystack....

The feds and local cops REALLY hate competition in their sideline of selling illegal and stolen weapons. It cuts into their doughnut money and retirement plan funds....

I was going to buy an enfield, but I sold some stuff instead and actually made some money instead of spending some money..later I used the money to purchase an unissued yugoslavian sks..cosmoline..the stuff that hold the universe together..

Nice rifles, but clean immediately and thoroughly after firing military corrosive [ALL Russian!] ammo. The barrels on the Yugo rifles aren't chrome plated.

Some think they're a little more accurate for that. I can't tell the difference, but the Russian and Chinese chrome-plated bores are generally in better condition.

Now I note pinetop mentions that there were federal law enforcement agents at these shows where this illegal activity was going on under their noses. Violations of the national firearms act are felonies and as such we must conclude that either A. Pinetop is full of sh*t or B. This was some weird government set up to transfer military hardware to these people while they were in the USA. Absent any logical reason why this would be needed within the USA I will choose A.

Stay well - Stay safe - Stay armed - Yorktown
