BTW, is that pic at the top of Al Gore?

It was this sort of thinking that bit us on the bee-hind in '94. Dubya has it right: don't gloat.

You call this article a gloat ? I don't.
To: John Lenin
As a Woodstock "veteran" and a US Army veteran post Woodstock, I can assure you that there was no Woodstock to be over.
It was a party not a movement.

You call this article a gloat ? I don't. I call the title a gloat.

I don't.

Outfrickin' standing. Excellent article, a catharsis in print.

Well, there is a certain disconnect in the views of Bush II - their side terms him a "frat boy," and our side proclaims that "the adults are in charge" once more. Seems to me the consensus, if there is one, trends toward the latter point of view, but time will tell.

Do you miss the Woodstock days ? I don't.

disconnect in the views of Bush II On MSNBC yesterday, they ran a clip from SNL showing a doofus-looking Bush counting up the Senate totals. Jonathan Alter followed, and he suggested that they retire such images as it was obvious that this president was smart enought to run circles around politicians. Forget the exact words, but it was wonderful to hear!

I don't even know what "the Woodstock days" are. All I know is that Newt Gingrich made the mistake of interpreting the 1994 elections as a populist mandate and went around thumping his chest about it. Newt single-handedly resuscitated Bill Clinton with his smug arrogance.

Good Post!

Newt single-handedly resuscitated Bill Clinton with his smug arrogance.Couldn't agree more. (And something to be mindful of in the wake of the 2002 election.)
