Hang on, Jimmy Talent, hang on man! It think he'll win, barring vote fraud in St. Louis.

In MO, with 95% in, Talent has a 22,000 vote lead. That is just about the size of the net votes that they are likely holding back in St. Louis. I now think it likely that they are holding back the votes to see how many they need to steal.

I think the widow could win, but I sure hope not.

Coleman had better win in MN.

'Rat: I'm drunk. And I'm very sad. And I'm very, very afraid.

I don't think I understand. This would be different than before Nov '05 how?

By my calculations, Carnahan needs to win approximately 63% of the remaining vote to pull it off.

If St. Louis isn't in yet, she can do it. Otherwise, she is finished.

Anyone know what is left uncounted?

The White House planned and maneuvered this tremendous and probably historic victory as smoothly and stragetically as I've ever seen. It is inconcievable to me that they will drop the ball now. They can't afford to fumble, tonight we begin the race for 2004.

Just saw two concerning things about MO.

1. Carnahan seemed very smirky and smarmy saying that "St. Louis City" hasn't reported yet. 2. Engle on Fox at the WH said two people from MO at the WH are not confident enough to call it for GOP. Wonder why?... maybe 99% turnout pending in "St. Louis City"...??

This is the thinking over at DU with regard to where they need to take the democRAT party.

"we really need to rebuild the dem leadership. We need to drag them left, and get them stop their compromising on issues. We need to get the lobby groups on our sides. We need to reach out to greens, we need a vast leftwing alliance. We've got 2 years to pick a candidate for president, and I think it would help us to look to unknowns, I mean the less the repubs know about the candidates the better."

That strategy should do the trick...not!

Is anyone keeping track of win/lose House races?? It looks like the Pubs lost one here in NM, sad to say.

I don't know if anyone on FR is keeping track of those races... I can barely post on FR tonight, it's so slow. It has speeded up a little bit, though, now that many of my fellow East Coasters are heading to bed.

My husband and I visited your lovely state a couple of weeks ago (attended the Taos balloon rally, visited Santa Fe, Taos Pueblo, Taos ski area, etc.). NM is a very unique state - would love to visit again. On the (political) DOWNside... saw Bill Richardson (and "Vote Straight Democrat") signs EVERYWHERE. Sincere condolences on that Richardson gubernatorial win tonight. Sanchez seemed like a rising star within the Republican party, although I admit I don't know too much about his background.

Here's some irony for ya. We're gonna win the senate and if Mondale wins in Minnesota, Lautenberg and Mondale will be in the minority in the senate. What the hell are they gonna do then? :-}

BINGO. The goal of the Libertarians is to elect Democrats. That's it. In your words, also it's to teach us all a lesson. You have. You and your party have taught us for over 10 years, you elect Democrats. We won't forget. There will be a place in America for a third and hopefully, fourth party. I pray God it won't be yours. I won't forget how you Libetarians have acted and the way you disrupt and talk. In your own way, you are as sick as the Democrats are. IMHO. BTW, NEVER have I been so proud to be a BUSHBOT. :)

Oh, look -- someone else who can't read...

Sorry to make your brain explode, but I voted a straight-party Republican ticket today. Your first hint should have been the way I spoke of "they" when writing about libertarians, and didn't use the word "we".

Obviously something's wrong with your knee-jerk preconceptions. Whatever could it be?

Try reading what I wrote again, this time for content instead of for isolated words which trigger the mental reflexes which pass for actual thought in your brain.

Hint: I said nothing about "teaching you all lesson". That came from the bowels (and I use that word carefully) of your own ingrained political prejudices.

All I pointed out was that libertarians vote for libertarian candidates for the same reason that republicans vote for republicans (even for republican candidates who have no chance of winning) -- in order to make their voice heard and to influence the issues which will be focused on in the next election cycle.

How you managed to twist that into the bizarre paraphrasing you spewed above, I'll never know, but I'd like to point out that the decaffeinated brands taste almost as good.

But since you didn't accuse me of being only motivated by drugs and child porn, like Cherry so charmingly did, I won't insist on an apology from you, I'll just ask that you try to read more carefully in the future before you go off on wild rants about people based on nothing they've actually written.

Nobody has done anything about vote fraud in Saint Louis.

Holding election results past a certain time should be illegal.
