This is HUGE! I can't believe Erlich pulled it off. Good riddance to another Kennedy! Congratulations Marylanders! :-D
More good news... Rowland (R) wins Gov. race in CT, MITT ROMNEY (R) wins over Shannon O'Brien in MA (HUGE!), Carcieri (R) is winning over Myrth York (D) in RI Gov. race - I think that was unexpected.
Looks like Terry McAwful will have that gas guzzlin' SUV up for sale soon... LOL!

"...Paula Zahn is filling in by being visibly PO'd and majorly bummed out."She doesn't seem too bright to me. I think that zipper ad was right on. I would bet that her sophisticated political views amount to "Republicans mean, Democrats care."

That is, of course, if Chafee or McCain doesn't switch parties. It is far too early to celebrate. Why would McCain switch? He'll be chairman again.

I agree with your characterization of Rather. Just one look at Dusty Dan's face says it all. Hooray for us!!

Are there still nine senate seats undetermined like CNN shows on their site?
To: VRWC_minion
I can't imagine how the DU'ers will react to this.

SENATE: Assuming that the Repub wins in Oregon (which I'm less certain of than others), and the moderately big Repub leads hold (COLORADO, SC, GA, NH, TX, ME, NC, etc.), this is where we stand:
The Republicans need to win one of the following 3 seats to take the Senate (50/50):
MN
MO
SD
That is, of course, if Chafee or McCain doesn't switch parties. It is far too early to celebrate.
Two links for following the results of the Senate races.

Paul Zahn interviewing John Sununu:(first question) "Could you tell us where your opponent went wrong?" Translation: "You really didn't win, you dolt, Shaheen screwed up"
Then she asked him at what part of the night did he run the strongest (???)

The CNN team of Zahn, Greenfield, Brown and Woofdruff looks like they are in desperate need of purple shrouds and black Nikes'.........I have not watched the local news since I got satellite and Fox News 3 years ago.
(The locals are waaayy to the left of CNN, if you can believe it)
I am having a BALL watching the absolute SHOCK on their faces after all the gerrymandering (sp?) to get Democrat districts etc.
They are looking around and saying, "Could this be happening just because GW Bush came into the state?"...
Didn't hurt...LOL!!!
They are also saying that blacks stayed home....but the truth may be that mhking and others are finally getting through and they (black folks) are utilizing that secret ballot....FOR GREAT JUSTICE!

Paper ballots have not been counted yet, the results in Maine are only the cities, still hope for Peter. It's going to be a long night.

I sure hope ol Terry doesn't lose his job. He's the best secret weapon Republicans have had in a long time Shhhh!! No one should know that McAuliffe is a GOP deep cover agent.
To: Tribune7
Hoping for a Republican governor in Oregon too. But not looking that good.
