A lot depends on whether they counted metro Denver yet, or not. This area will vote against Allard.

NO WAY!! We're off to a GREAT start in CA!!! I just saw on channel 3 NBC, that Simon's starting off with a 57% to 37% lead on DavAss with 1% Reporting!!

It's a long way to go, but it's a DAMN GOOD START!!!

If you're asking about California Governor Grey-out Davis, versus Bill Simon, then our polls just closed 11 minutes ago. No results yet.

If this site were faster, I could look back and likely see whether this reply is relevant ... oh well. If it isn't, nevermind.

Did anyone see Paul Begala and Terry McAuliffe on CNN -- by the way, they seem to be getting results quicker than anyone else -- ? Anyway, they both looked they were about to burst into tears.

For those in WI or those who are WI 'ex-pats', you can listen to a 'live' (~2 min delay) feed of WTMJ-AM at

Note: requires the SurferNETWORK Player (small download)

"Lousiana was originally French ,the political subdivisions happen to be parishes instead of counties ;counties come from the English style of gov't."

The first capital of Louisiana (1699) is just down the road from me here on Mobile Bay. It was on Dauplin Island, Alabama.

PLEASE keep bringing bill clinton back to campaign for you. {{{snicker}}}

AMEN, that man had been the kiss of death to Democrats even here in ultra-liberal NY.

Let's review the Clinton NY "Death" List in just the past year:

1. Mark Green--ran for mayor of NYC, went down in flames.
2. Andy Cuomo-Kennedy---groomed for governor, stabbed in back. Got maybe 1% of the vote tonight on the Liberal line.
3. Carl McCall--ran for governor, down in flames.

And that's just HERE. In one year.

Somewhere, the few NY Dem bigwigs with any brains are starting to curse the day the Clintons landed in New York...cuz Bill is slowly killing them.

What an incredible night this has been. FOX is pretty much saying that Allard will win in CO. Now all we need is Norm for a clean sweep and to get rid of the Clinton-McAwful reign.

Rudy G. on MSNBC right now. We owe this man a huge debt of gratitude, he really campaigned hard for the GOP.

FOFLOL. Well, we were hoping for a runoff and we got it. My csndidate Suzi Terrell is going to be her opponent and i think she can beat Landrieu. But, yes, well take all the help we can get, this is tooooo important.

Pray for those of us in the Peoples Republik of Kalifornia

Though I hope I am wrong with every fiber of my being ... I don't think that much is going to help us out here in Kalifornistan ... in THIS years election.

Go Simon

Things are pretty clear now on the Senate. Assuming that the Repub wins in Oregon (which I'm less certain of than others), and the moderately big Repub leads hold (COLORADO, SC, GA, NH, TX, ME, NC, etc.), this is where we stand:

The Republicans need to win one of the following 3 seats to take the Senate (50/50):

MN
MO
SD

That is, of course, if Chafee or McCain doesn't switch parties. It is far too early to celebrate.
