Polls were crowded and poll watchers were numerous in Aberdeen, SD. I hope that means that the ballot boxes will be hard for Tim Johnson dems to stuff.

I voted in Annapolis a few minutes after 8:00. My ballot was No. 130 for the day, so I would say that's a pretty good turnout.

Voted my typical broken glass Republican ballot. I sure hope Bobby Ehrlich and Mike Steele can pull it off. I don't hold out much hope for the Rs in any of the other races.

Poor Maryland. The top of the RAT ticket is scary enough, but it gets scarier and scarier as you progress down the ticket. This is one sorry Rat-infested state!

Just back from voting. I saw my husband and daughter's signatures already on the roles. That's THREE straight Republican tickets in Indiana (we have no senator or governor races this year, but I am hoping we get a huge turnout and take back our legislature).

Of note:

Huge turnout in our precinct, and all over Republican strongholds. I attribute this to an organized get-out-the-vote effort by our new state chairman, Jim Kittle. Our precinct committeeman had even put signs up at both entrances to our subdivision reminding people to vote!

Also, for the first time ever, there were SERIOUS "No electioneering" signs up, complete with the statute and the fact that violation is a FELONY. I have never seen that type of sign before. Usually they just say "No Electioneering" and that's it. The signs are large with red lettering.

Radio in the car says that turnout is heavy (raining here in Indiana). Radio pundits think Jill Long (D) will be defeated by Tricola. Also think that Hostettler will hold on in his district.

If I hear any more local information I will pass it on.

Just Voted as polls opened in California "Straight Repub" I noticed more people then usual. Could be a big day for Simon and other Repubs. I live in Chico Ca. thats about 100 miles north of Sacramento.

Definitely enemy territory. We live in a small rural town in Southcentral Minnesota.

The polls were busy, the booths were full, and people were seated at tables to fill out their ballots. We were handed a small 4 x 4 supplemental ballot with the new Senatorial slate on it, and the original ballot had the Senatorial section crossed out with red ink.

We are known to 3/4 of the election board, so identification was not a problem. Everyone here knows everyone else. But there was no doubt about the fact that we were definitely behind enemy lines. This town is loaded with dedicated FDR Democrats. They will vote for anything with a "D" after its name. Hubby wondered if they didn't think they were still voting for FDR. hmmm....

We voted in Alexandria, VA this morning around 830 am, no problems, touch board electronic ballot, easy to read and easy to vote. Somewhat surprised by the larger than normal off year election turnout. There is a 1/2 percent increase in the sales tax on the ballot to fund transportation projects. Voted straight Republican and no to the tax increase.

That might be something you might want to report to the fraud people. If you are voter 152, and for 1/2 at 9:30 you saw no one, then unless you missed a big morning crowd, that might be a problem area. Did you ask any of the poll workers was there a big turnout before you got there? One might be stupid enough to answer!

Done. Voted at around 10:00 A.M. here in Indy-just NE of Indianapolis, Hamilton County.

It's a dark, rather cold day-mild rain continuously pelting the fallen leaves and the voting booths were steady with participants but no lines.

This is Dan Burton's district, and he is fairly popular and not facing defeat. The machines were so simple to use-a light lights up beside your candidates name when you push the button beside his or her name.

Or, you can vote straight ticket-and all the lights light up beside your party choices. A button at the bottom advances the pages-ours had three pages.

The only thing I did not like was that altho the circuit judges had party affiliation written under them, the three state supreme court judges running for re-election DID NOT have party affiliation under their names.

I spoke to the election official about this and said I believe this was not right, that many of us may not remember exact affiliations of judges on the state supreme court from reading the voters guide a week ago.

So-I did not vote for either of the three-no lights light up beside any names when I pushed straight republican ticket. I didn't want to negate any voters who do know and I refuse to guess.

Wonder why we can know the party of circuit judges on the ballot but NOT supreme court judges here in Indy.?

I just voted a straight Republican ticket here at Hayes Elementary in Kennesaw, GA (6th Congressional District). I had absolutely no problem with the touch-screen ballot, nor did I notice anyone else with a problem. There are app. 3000 voters registered in our precinct. One poll worker told me that over 500 had voted as of 10:00am.

Just voted in Boynton Beach, Palm Beach County, FL. It was at the FOP building. There was much electioneering going on on the grounds. Firefighters are pushing their candidate, a democrat. I waited just six minutes in line. Theresa LePore had sent out sample ballots to all voters. If one had taken the time to read the sample and make the decisions beforehand, one could vote, using the new machines, and be back outside in no time. Of course there are more republicans around here, so not TOO many problems.
