I agree. I still don't see Kirk breaking 40%. I still seeing this as a media "surprise" that they will whine about for weeks, wondering how Kirk could fall so far out of favor.

What's all this stuff about "401-k holders?" I think that 401K holders are equivalent to "likely voters." The demographics are similar, in essence.
To: Theodore R.
He won it in 1912, but lost his own state in 1916 to Hughes - the man was amazingly unpopular with so many. He campaigned on keeping the US out of the war, which of course he did not do. Here is a fun website, if you like maps and history.

This Texan voted at the local library a week ago. I took the easy way out and voted straight Republican.

Turns out the Pubbie base wasn't as fired up in 2000 as people thought. Lots of evangelicals stayed home. Some think that was due to the late breaking DUI story.
There has been a concerted GOTV effort targeting evangelicals this year. I heard an ad by Dr. Dobson just this morning.

I hope you're right. As an evangelical myself, I'm embarrassed by the irresponsibility of my brethren on important issues like THE DUTIES OF CITIZENSHIP.

"Dumocraps are saying the fix is in. The voting machines are rigged for Republicans.
Well.....I guess the secrets out! LOL. Idiots!"
Well, according to drudgereport.com, they may be on to something. We have to win Georgia! Good job, rain!
I'll have to find out more about that tonight.

LOUISIANA Update:Rain since this morning, light rain and drizzle this afternoon. Went to vote (metairie suburb) and asked the poll rep how turnout was and he said pretty poor so far. They were only expecting 40% turnout and that was BEFORE the rain. Radio news updates say low turnout so far in South Louisiana today as well as in North Louisiana
This is GREAT news because we need Landrieu (D) to NOT get 50% turnout so it will force a runoff.

Yes but who is the GOP top-gun? Cooksey? He can't shoot off his mouth like her 1996 opponent did. We need top-down Chambliss-style management on this one...smooth and relaxed, putting Landrieu totally on the defensive. I could be wrong, but I don't think that Dr. Cooksey's campaign has ever gained momentum. I believe that he will finish third or fourth. The most likely opponent is Suzanne Haik Terrell although I am supporting Tony Perkins right now. Both of them are good campaigners, but they will take tough stands and say the hard things that must be said when necessary. The 1996 opponent was Woody Jenkins. He didn't lose from "shooting off his mouth." He lost because of vote fraud in New Orleans. I've lived here only a short time, and I don't know all that there is to know about the state or its past elections. However, I've taken the time to listen to people and do a little research. If you don't know the state well enough to know who the frontrunners are among Republicans, you might want to be a little slower in placing the blame for the 1996 loss.

I'm from Colorado too and my point is, aside from Strickland's first Senatorial campaign against Allard, he hasn't run for squat!
Thanks for stating the obvious though.
